Where did the run game go??? I am glad we don't need it as much with Ben back, but still. it's somewhat troubling that the ability to run has diminished... I thought with Ben coming back, the defenses would be more open to be run against. What gives? Besides injuries.

Pretty much Adams getting injured killed the run game on Sunday. Before that, Moore was actually breaking through for some nice runs.

Mendenhall wasn't in for a little while, I'm assuming maybe it had something to do with the heat.

Other than that game though, the run game has been working nicely. They had more run plays than pass plays against the Browns.

In the Miami game, there were 22 run plays and 27 pass plays. (Mendy only had 4 though, again, I think the heat had something to do with it...or else Tomlin thought Moore would do better for some reason).

In the Browns game, there were 34 run plays and 27 (attempted) pass plays, and Mendy ran for 84 yards and a TD.

He's got 532 yards on the season already and is averaging 88.2 yards per game. I don't think they plan on abandoning the run anytime (at least they haven't yet). I just think having Scott and Foster in the game kind of killed the run blocking.

it has been bad. mendy had 27 rushes against the Browns for only 84 yards. thats a 3.1 averags. against Miami he had 15 carries for 37 yards which is a 2.5 average. he has definatly not been running well since Ben came back and his average dropped by almost 3 yards a carry. he just dosnt seem to hit the hole hard anymore. hopefully he picks it up because we need a run game if we expect to survive

Ed.B. of the P-G has been slamming Tomlin for keeping Mendenhall in late during the Tampa and Cleveland games and seeing how long it takes for the wheels come off

Word is Mendenhall has a bruised shoulder, which may explain the increased reps for Moore in Miami

against the browns he was averaging more, there was like 3 runs in a row where he gained no yards, they were just running out the clock

Maybe everyone should take in consideration the past 3 games Mendy has faced good defenses against the run.

Ask yourself this.

-Peyton Manning
-Drew Brees
-Aaron Rodgers
-Philip Rivers

What do all these quarterbacks have in common? They're probably among the best in the league, right? Now, look at their perspective running games. Are defenses who play against them more open to the run game?

He's had a shoulder contusion so that might explain a little. Miami was really his only sub-par game of the season. Cut the guy some slack. I think he'll have a big game against the Saints this Sunday.
