Maybe Daunte will be up for a boat ride on the Gateway Clipper after the game??

I doubt Culpepper will be ready physically for the season opener....

Although I was hoping for the Bengals or Broncos...maybe this is best...get the rust off for an undermanned (w/o Culpepper) Dolphin team before we take on the heavyweights...

You never know maybe we get the furst wack at Turnover Tommy. I would rather it be the Bungals, b/c I think it would be a classic to get the rings the night we play the Bungles.:bouncy:

The Steelers may start the season with Miami but let's hope they end the season in Miami.

Man, I was hoping that when we played the Fins, that Brees'd be the QB. But, they passed on him and signed Culpepper. Well, I guess we'll just have to see how it turns out...

Should be an interesting game as always

It is odd, with that possible AFCCG rematch hanging out there.

Anyway, only a little more than 5 months away...should be a fun game, it's only a few days after my birthday, and I'm definitely taking a vacation day and partying in da Burgh after the game.

Woot!

Because of the hurricane the last game in Miami apparently catapulted this group of players into what we now know is a championship-caliber team.

Is anyone takes bets on whether Duce will be playing? I'm leaning more towards sweatsuit rather than uniform.

Wasn't Miami Big Ben's first official start at QB? Hopefully he can keep the streak going against the Phins.

I thought that the Broncos would open the season here in Pittsburgh. Rest assured, that game will either be a 4PM Sunday national broadcast or a prime time game.

The Steelers may start the season with Miami but let's hope they end the season in Miami.

Could it be, perhaps, that's what the NFL was thinking for the Steelers regarding this matchup, too? :bouncy:

Two of the biggest franchises in the NFL, with both teams looking like playoff contenders, seems like a solid for the NFL to start the season. Plus, great thing, will give us a couple of extra days off for week 2.

I completely agree. I think its a solid opener against a quality opponent. The Dolphins also get to play the Lions on Thanksgiving, two of the marquee games of the year for the Fins.

Miami excitement

Cowher, on the prospect of opening the season against the Miami Dolphins Sept. 7 in Heinz Field:

"I think it's great. When you look at teams, Miami, the way they finished last year, may have been the hottest team that didn't make the playoffs.

"The way Nick Saban brought that team together, now he'll be in his second year and they've made a lot of very good acquisitions in the offseason. They have a great running back and now they have a big-time quarterback and they always play great defense. It'll be a big challenge for our football team."

The Denver Broncos, the Steelers' AFC championship game opponent, asked not to be scheduled for the kickoff game in Heinz Field. - PPG

Well, I guess that's why we didn't get Denver in the opener?

Maybe the Nfl has information that Madsux is signing with the dolphins and they want to make sure all 10 of his fans get to see him get his ring
