i dont care what u guys say its my opinion that i think the mike williams pick was one of the best in the draft

Charles rogers who missed 2 seasons str8 as a huge chance of getting injured again

Roy williams missed a couple games with injury so him and rogers arent 100% and they will have 3 excellent recievers in a rotation all getting breaks

all over 6 foot and great vertical leaps and no team has 3 corners that can cover 3 6 foot WR's that are top 10 caliber players. Then you get a great running game that helps joey harrington out. kevin jones got over 1,000 in the second half alone because he missed 6 games in the first half. that helps the long ball so much with play action and stuff.

you guys say they have no defense

They got shaun cody, Dre bly and fernando bryant missed half the season and dre bly still made the pro bowl and they should both be healthy. then u get teddy lehman who had an excellent rookie season and will only improve. Boss Bailey was on IR and is returning. Shaun rogers is a probowler and james hall was an alternate.

so, i dont know about u but i think lions are a play off team next year and yes i think they beat minnesota for the division

think im crazy but we'll have to see

i forgot that they also picked up kennoy kennedy in free agency to solidify their seconday with him and brock marion in safety position

IF joey harrington continues to struggle:
U'll see the multiple pro bowler in jeff garcia

You might not care about what we say, but what about experts? Like any one of the 15 that were ripping Millen and the Lions all day on ESPN radio. lol

I was a dumb pick for alot of reasons........

Pardon the Interruption, just said had the arguement, It just seems that Matt Millen, e defensive player, would address the teams needs on Defense. he has to be on the bubble this year himself, and understand what your saying about Harrington, but don`t expect Garcia to bail him out, Garcia has seen his better days. Like I said if our defense sucked, and we already had Plax, and Hines, I would be livid if Cowher didn`t get us a defensive stud, Indy proves year after year, you can`t just outscore other teams.

but they dont have a bad defense, thats the thing, they lost some of their best players to injury and aquired kennoy kennedy and shaun cody this offseason and draft

HinesWard4Life8682,

Why are you the only person besides Matt Millen that fails to see huw dumb of a pick this is? I relize you are just a kid, and I suspect you dont know much about sports. There is more to this pick than Mike Williams. I relize he will be a good reciever in the NFL, he will get his TD's too. It is still a stupid pick........The Lions need DEFENSE! at pick 10 there were alot of Defensive players that would have come in and made an impact. Wait!........The stupidity doesn't stop there. the last 3 drafts the Lions took a WR 2nd, 7th, and 10th overall. Why do you think no other team has ever drafted the same position with their first pick 3 years in a row?..........Because it is stupid LOL. Not only that they drafted offense 6 years in a row with their first pick. When you take a WR in the top 10 you pay big money, espacially with the 2nd overall pic. I bet Radgers will make more than both of the Williams'. In about three years they will have about 25 million in one position(that is stupid), How are they gonna pay the other 50 players? After you factor in Harrington's contract, there is not enough money to get quallity players to surround your QB and very talanted trio of WR's.

Do you watch TV or listen to the radio? Everyone is ripping Millen and the Lions. It is one of the most retarded picks ever.

If this does not convince you it is a dumb pick. There is one more thing that might help.......
Matt Millen was involved.

BigBen, There are the Steelers, then 31 other teams, why so defensive about the Lions???

Just curious??

Whilst everyone is having a go at the Lions management team, I've heard some talk of injury problems with one of their current wide receivers.

Therefore, if any truth in this rumour then Mike Williams becomes an outstanding pick.

I think we may hear some more of this later................

Honestly, I havent understood millens draft strategy since he started w/ the Lions. he's made some good picks, but overall, he lets the defense go at the expense of the offense.. which if u r the colts, thats one thing.. but harrington is no peyton manning.

I was not making fun of you........I was just joking. Although I don't see how you could call it a brilliant pick, when most people think it was the wrong direction for their front office to go.

IMO, it doesn't matter how it "turns out", unless Mike Williams can rush the QB.
I relize he will be a good reciever in the NFL. With that high of a pick they could have gotten a great player that better fits their needs.
