Pittsburgh Steeler Arrested In Belmont County

POSTED: 11:19 am EDT April 7, 2006
UPDATED: 2:14 pm EDT April 7, 2006

A Pittsburgh Steeler was arrested in Belmont County for allegedly driving with a suspended license.
Chukwunweze Okobi, an offensive lineman, was stopped for a speeding on April 2 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Officers said he was driving 80 mph in a 65 mph area near exit 210 on Interstate 70. During the traffic stop, officers said they discovered that Okobi's license had been suspended.
Dave Lockett of the Pittsburgh Steelers said Okobi's license was suspended because his renewal forms were sent to his previous address and he did not receive the information.
Lockett said Okobi's license has since been renewed and is no longer suspended.
A hearing is set for April 13.

At least it wasn't a real serious infraction.

This is absolute bullshit, and meaningless. I was in a wreck once and found out 3 years later that my license was revoked in Ohio because I didn't file some obscure form.

NICK MANGOLD! lol

didnt max starks get harassed by some cops right after the sb? now hes doing uso tours in afghanistan?

i was talking to a cop in my town about 10 years ago and he was bragging about pulling over scottie pippen (i guess in our little po-dunk town this is a big deal)

pippen was passing through on his way to phoenix.

i asked the officer why he pulled him over and he looked at me and said " a black man in a lambroghini......., here.......? c'mon."

same story, different town.

i dont think is really a big deal... Is not like they found drugs in his car or he was drunk as hell. Prolly just taking his new car out a spin and testing out what a 120 000 car can do lol

When the judge sees that his license is no longer suspended, the charges will be dropped.

At least no drugs or a DUI were involved. Pay the fine and hire a driver Chukky.

But can you blame him? Wouldn't you want to get through that sea of myopia called Ohio a fast as you can?

I know Jim and Randy from DVE's morning show sure did on their way to Super Bowl XL in Detroit...(lol). They got stopped and ticketed for it, too.
