...that we'd be 12-4, with the #2 seed in the AFC, winner of the div., back in August,
would you have said that you'd gladly take those circumstances,
considering the Ben suspension and all?

Damn straight I would have. I was so sick of all the worthless
talking suits, and people I know, assuming with Ben's suspension,
that Pgh was in for a tough season. I said all along that the
whole ordeal might actually make Ben a better QB and person,
and that the team would be more focused than ever.

And most of us would have guessed, even back then, that the
Pats were definitely a possible tough team to beat in the post
season as well. And, unfortunately, we were right.

Regardless of the outcome from here on out, we were spoiled,
once again, by another great Steeler season.

That being said, I wouldn't mind being further spoiled with a
7th ring as well! :tt04:

i honestly was praying for a 9-6/10-5 season
and maybe a wild card spot
i never thought that we would win the div.

You were hoping we only had a 15 game schedule?

i never thought that we would win the div.

Neither did bobby, jr.

And neither did I - i guessed maybe 9-7 at best - this team either overshoots (2001/2004) or undershoots (2006/2009) expectations

i seem to recall reading that it would be the ratbirds and bungholes competing for the division crown.while the steelers and the up and coming browns slug it out for 3rd.

I had alot of guys that I work with ask me what I thought our record would be after the first four games of the season. I boldly told the that we would be AT LEAST 3-1. So no, I'm not supprised at all.

I always expect at least an 11-5 record every year!

I agree totally and said in another thread that if history repeats itself, we should be pretty successful this year! This was their year to overshoot, and they didn't let me down.

Reading all the interviews makes me think that these guys are really focused after watching the playoffs on tv last year. Nothing would be sweeter than a 7th trophy!

i predicted 11-5 but hell i'll take 12-4

ben suspension didn't have me worried, i knew we could win in the regular season without him. it's the playoffs where we'd need him to win

Living in donkey country I was taking crap for Ben and how we were gonna suck, I straight out said we will be 12-4/11-5 and possibly 13-3 if we got a couple of breaks in games (obviously that didn't happen).

I was on the 10-6 or 11-5 bandwagon. I also predicted that the Bungles would fall apart bringing in that team cancer TO. I figured we would be 2-2 in the first 4 games and am glad I was wrong about that one. I predicted that Baltimore and Pittsburgh would be fighting it out all the way to the end of the season for the division and it was a tossup. Gee, I feel like Karnak the Magnificent.

I remember half this board wanted Ben traded in April.

Where are they all now?

Same here. I thought we'd finish 11-5 and make the playoffs so 12-4 with #2 seed is gravy.
As for Ben, I never thought his suspension would be very disruptive. Now is the time for him to justify his >$100M.

yep i have a magazine still from right before the season that picked bengals and baltimore to be #1 and #2 in that order. it also had dallas winning the nfc and the jets winning the afc
