I was watching an interview with Eddie George the other day on the NFL Network. My take on the interview has convinced me that Eddie George was announcing his availability to play a couple of more years of NFL football. Depending on what the Steelers do or do not aquire in the draft, you may see Eddie George wearing the black and gold next season. He would fill the Bettis void and could play a similar role. I wouldn't mind seeing it.

No disrespect to you but I dont want to see Eddie here he is washed up. I think we are ok at the rb spot.

in a related story, Chuck Foreman has told the Minnesota Vikings he feels "great" and would like to work out with the team.

Eddie's not that old. He's a heck of a lot younger than Bettis has been for the past 4-5 seasons. Eddie George, unlike Foreman, probably does feel great. He works out and takes care of himself. I'm not saying that he's the answer but I wouldn't be suprised to see him in the black and gold if the Steelers don't draft someone. He's the type of player that the Steelers organization looks for when it comes to off the field demeanor. He would probably sign for league minimum. Our RB situation looks good for now but as we all know Duce is certainly injury prone.

Hell, why don't we just bring Franco Harris out of retirement then!

I think V Haynes is better than the credit he is given. He closed down many games for us last year. I am not sure he couldnt be a starter here or some place esle. No eddie!!!!

No way that would happen...there are enough players still actively playing the game,IMO the Steelers would never sign a retired player,if you quit once your heart ain't in it ,and to be a Steeler ya got to have HEART !!!

No way this happens either.. Eddie George's best years are behind him..he's been injury prone lately and thats the last thing we need AGAIN, at RB.

I`m not interested in a back that is always hurt! Besides we will be lucky if Duce does the Bettis deal for us. Its time for some more youth people. Willie is young, Veron is medium, and Staley is older, we need another back that is young.

We don't need Eddie. He's been out of football for what, two years? There is no way he's in any kind of shape to play football, especially the smashmouth style we play.

I was on the vacation that determined my residence when Eddie George won the Heisman.

I took my girlfriend to Disney for a week in January in what? 1994? 1995? 1996?

One of those years. We moved to Orlando in March of that same year.

That was a thousand years ago as far as I'm concerned, and I'm not interested in any backs from my era.

In a related story, Duane Thomas has asked for a tryout with the Washington Redskins.

I agree another thing is Edddie is done, he should retire instead of trying to find a team to play for

He was a hella RB back then, ever since he got knocked out of the playoff game against the Steelers he never was the same, hes got way to much going on to think about coming back to the NFL and he'll be 33 this year.

Really, this is even less than speculation...there's a better chance of all of us being hit by meteorites simultaneously than there is of Eddie George being a Pittsburgh Steeler.
