View Full Version : Cheering for the Jets upset

I KNOW weíre going to play whoever we play next week and be happy doing it. The opponent and game location we canít control. BUT with that said, Iím cheering for the Jets today. NOT so much that I think it would be fortunate getting to avoid the Pats, but because a Jets upset today brings next weeks AFC Championship game HOME. Thereís nothing Iíd like better, but itís not a practical thing, to go to Foxboro and stuff out the Pats, fitting that the two best teams play and we prevail as the best of the lot on their turf. So itís not so much the opponent, but bringing the premier game home for the national stage. Along with the obvious advantages of being at home. :tt02:

I almost wish we could play them both. We didn't bring our "A" game against either team and redemption would be awesome! Although, the prospect of making brady cry does have a certain allure to it.

I really don't care who we end up playing or where because both scenario's have the same appeal.

If the Jets win, they come to Heinz and we can get some payback for the November loss.

If the Pats win, we can go to Foxboro and get a decade-long monkey off our backs.

In either case, we still get to the Super Bowl and we still get satisfaction out of the win beyond just being a ticket to the dance. So to me, that's win - win no matter how it plays out today.

Sure if the Jets win we get another Home Playoff Game.......Its going to take a much better effort all around to beat either of them

but we're certainly capable

bring on either one

It would be SO KOOL to have another playoff game at Heinz Field... that place was AMAZING last nite ! We can NOW take down either the Jets OR Patriots, but to play at Heinz is the "only" reason for me to goe for Jets, Jets, Jets !

I want to beat the Patriots so I would like to see them. But a home game against the Jets is a game I'm almost sure we would win. Last time we played them we really slacked off in the 2nd half and still won the game if not for the refs. Remember on the final drive Sanders had beat his man and Ben through him a perfect ball, but the refs decided it was ok for Cromartie to grab him by his jersey and nearly stop him before letting go. That would have been a win if not for that and we didn't even play that good.

I hope the jets do win..went to my first playoff game yesterday and it was crazy, loved every minute of it, even being down 21-7 because it just got the crowd even more hyped up.

Id like them to come back here next week so I can experience another playoff game.

I'll never root for a potential Steelers opponent. I hate both teams anyway, and the Jets even more than the Patriots. I have no respect for loudmouthed jagoffs and the Jets fans are #1, far ahead of the Pats. The Pats have talent, can win, and they proved it. The Jets have proven nothing.
We'll face whoever wins today.
If we click on all cylinders we can beat any team. What we did in the second half yesterday can be done again, and this time for 60mn. Hope it's next Sunday.

God, I hate both teams but I'd prefer getting the Jets at home and in another way I want the Pats for revenge. My kid brother takes a lot of crap at school from his friends who are bandwagon Patriots fans who know nothing about NFL history or how the game should be played. I will confess though because of the JEts' ****yness I did enjoy them being pounded by the Pats last month. Hope they tear each other both apart though and Rex Ryan gives us a nice little blueprint for beating the PAts.

The Jets are going as far as Mark Sanchez is going. I don't think Sanchez has what it takes to beat the Patriots.

Hmm I learned something today! I didn't realize that if the Jets win, they come to our House. Cooooool beans!! I just don't see it happening though. As much as we all despise the Pats, I doubt we can beat them at their house and there is only one reason I think that.

The referees. Tammy can't take near the abuse our REAL MAN Ben takes and if someone touches the poor fag, we'll get 15 yards. Better yet, I'd like to see him taken OUT COMPLETELY of the game.

Either way, should be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Just my 2 cents worth, for whatever that may or may not be!

You can't win or lose a game because of referees. There are dozens of opportunities to win each and every game, the refereee excuse is a little boy's way of saying "we weren't good enough."

Jets up 14-3 at half but I foresee a roaring comeback like the Steelers did yesterday. The only wild card is how well the Pats D will play - they don't look that good but I expect Brady to come out slinging it.

People on the Pats board are calling out Brady and BB.

Lol the pats forum just went down. People were saying that if the Jets beat the Patriots it would be a bigger upset than the Giants beating the Pats in the Super Bowl. We'll see though if Sanchez can hold it together in the second half and not have a Flacco meltdown, and we'll see if the D can keep it up on Brady. Two big if's imo.

Brady is getting killed back their. This game is over, I can't watch the Jets celebrate on the Patriots field. Next week we can root for the Steelers to make another Super Bowl. Big Ben can tie Brady for SB with three.

I love what's going on. Even if the Jets don't win, I think they are exposing some weaknesses in the patriots that i hope the Steelers can take advantage of. Unfortunately the Steelers don't really play as much man D. It would be funny if Lebeau mixed it up on Brady. Brady knows how to handle the Zone D.

When the Steelers play, I start to relax with a 4 score lead in the fourth quarter, especially if the opposing quarterback is Brady or Manning. I remember the 2005 Divisional Playoff against the Colts where all of my friends were sure the game was over in the third quarter and we all know what a nailbiter that game was in the end.

What I loved is the confused look on the Pats faces in the first half. Then in the 3rd quarter it got worse. I think the Jets tricked the Patriots.

I can't wait to read about what the Jets did to prevent the Cheatriots from eaves dropping on their locker room and play calling. I don't believe for a second that Bill quit his cheating ways. The Jets did something to hide their play calling. I think Rex's talk about that game being about who's the better coach was Rex setting him up. So often the Pats were caught off guard. I can't recall the Pats looking like that in their own house in quite some time.
