Recently there have been a couple fatal bear attacks. After each of these atacks bears were hunted down and killed, not even knowing if it were the right bear. Within hours the bears were shot and killed.
A human can kill and maybe go to prison, and possibly get out or off?? Is this fair?

I am not an animal rights activist, actually the opposite, I do hunt, for food. And I am in favor of eye for an eye. But these people went into these forest knowing the risk, and the bear was just protecting its home, or cubs or whatever, it didnt know any better. A human does know right from wrong.

It made me think because Unfortunatley I have a former friend that just killed two 19 year old college students, while driving drunk. I understand that this happens often, but this was his 12 DUI charge. Our justice system sucks, if he were put away along time ago, these two young people would be alive today. They know he did it, I`m all for death now.

im like you. im all for hunting (other than for the sheer sake of killing) but when you go stepping onto someone elses turf and you get killed.......

if i got shot roaming around compton, i dont think the authorities would hunt down, and shoot kill the killer.

I can't kill any animal. I just found a baby squirrel in my mom's backyard, and I had to drive it to a rehab center instead of just letting it go as my mom's suggested.

Animals just do what they do, and they don't know any better. But people are capable of doing evil. Need proof? Ever see a bear with 11 DUI's get drunk, drive and kill a couple kids?

I'll rescue a baby squirrel, but I'd have no problem shooting this guy with 12 DUI's in the head.

I'll rescue a baby squirrel, but I'd have no problem shooting this guy with 12 DUI's in the head. absolutely. i cant count how many baby birds have fallen out of their nest, ive tried to rescue. i rehabilitated a baby cottontail rabbit i found last year (until it died). ive had better luck with stray abandonned kittens.

yet ive met plenty of people who i wouldnt walk across the street to piss on if they were on fire.

i'll cap me a bear or two i don't give a damn lol, bears are useless anyway and ppl gonna start tearing down their homes to make more buildings and shit sooner or later so i guess just get it over with early lol

Its just a rash reaction much like what happens when sharks attack. People want the culprit animal dead, they could care less if its the actual attacker or not. should they be reprimanded? yes. arrested? no. unless its an endangered animal

it WAS the right bear. Our intelligence, at the time, had reason to believe the bear was a threat to our national security. Should we have waited until the bear mauled us first before we acted? Are you saying we'd be better off if the bear was still there??
Have you forgotten what happened to those campers?

They are wild animals. It's instinct. So you killed the animal that kill an individual. What exactly do you accomplish? I have no problem hunting game that needs to be controlled, but I do have a problem with morons that feel they need to get revenge on "that there bear that attacked Billy Bob" simply because it reacted on instinct. It's idiotic.

I thought any wild animals that killed a human must be destroy because it will know that people are easy prey. As for the death pentalty, I think scumbags shouldn't die.Let them spend the rest of their lives in jail. I feel that way because my cousin was murder by her husband in cold blood. Here is the link http://www.amw.com/fugitives/case.cfm?id=34815 He loves his freedom so death is too good for him.

I don't think they should kill the bears. It is animal instinct, and we are in there place.

Exactly! I guess it just pisses me off that humans can get a way with killings, not so much the bear dying!

I read a story in the stars and stripes where a dude was hunting a bear got into some thick brush and the bear turned the table on him broke his arm but his hunting buddy shot and killed it. My point is if you're out and about no matter where the hell u are expect the unexpected if you're ****in with the wildlife be prepared to get ****ed with back. The only animals that need to be shot are the ones who are nuisances and tear shit up for the hell of it and are attacking people and pets just because they want to.....:helmet:

in my neck of the "woods" the mexican grey wolf has been shot about to the point of extinction. they like to kill and eat calves and sheep. certain jobs come with inherent risks.

if youre a farmer, you run the risk of drought. you cant shoot God

if youre an investment broker, you run the risk of loss. you cant shoot enron executives.

if youre a sheep grower or cattle driver (rancher), you could kill the wolves all you wanted. there is a big fight between the ranchers and govt. / enviormentalists in the southwest.

i side with the species going extinct. a beautiful and amazing canine that is cousin to "mans best friend". we have wolves, bears, mt. lions, coyotes, around where i live. although ive never encountered any, if you cant outsmart one of them, youre probably too stupid to live and breed anyways.

I hear ya Tony, as man continues to expand civilization into the woods and into the animals domain the animals will struggle to adapt to being around man, they will adapt one way or another to survive and to defend themselves.I for one don't want to see any one species go extinct because we as humans can't cope with the problem we have created. All animals belong here in this world each for their own reasons either to maintain other species' population or maybe to even control our population...lol. If more people would get their head out of their ass and realize we share this world with animals and it doesn't just belong to us maybe a lot of random useless killings would stop but then again that would happen in a perfect world not here on earth.

We need to offer freedom and democracy to the Bears, that will stabilize the region, and keep the animals from taking the fight to our subdivisions.

Not to get off the subject, please take a look at my post on page one and click on the link to see if anyone recognized the man who murder my cousin. To make a story short, he shot her in back; while she try to crawl away, he walk up to her put a knee on her back and put the gun behind her head then he pulled the trigger. He did this in bright daylight around witnesses. He been on the run since Sept. 2005. Your help is greatly appreciated.

They need to execute him in a slow and horrible and very very painful way to the point where he is screaming and crying out for anybody's forgiveness especially your cousins'......
