The one good thing about this game is, there really isn't anything I dislike about the Packers, its kind of like the Seahawks game. Not going to say I like them, as I like no one the Steelers play!

With that said.... Their game showed some glaring weakness's, and the biggest one, was pressure on Rogers. Who will no doubt be have the love fest going on for 12 days by the media, putting even more on him. Which is A OK with me.. Keep the focus on them.
Their OLINE should get eatin up by Harrison and Woodley.

Welcome to the Board. The run of the Pack to this year's Super Bowl has been a great one with Aaron Rodgers and their defense leading the way. This game should be one for the ages. Welcome again and post up!!

I like Rodgers I have to Admit and think this guy is a great QB, I just don't want him to be great when he plays my Steelers. Should be a great game and I hope we come out with at least 1 point more than the Packers do.

Welcome and please stay! I will be point blank, you won't hear me say ONE thing bad about your Green Bay Packers! What a matchup, if I wasn't a diehard Steelers fan and was forced to root for another team, then there is no other team I respect than Green Bay, hands down, period! Welcome and looking forward to talking the Super Bowl!

This will be the first Super Bowl the Pack are in that I won't be rooting for them. And they have an excellent fan base ... you just don't hear the junk from their fans that you get with other teams. Good luck to yinz, cheezeheads!

Lets hope we get a good officiating crew, no penalties for ether team, and no choking by ether team. And just lets see who the better team is. :drink:

So glad you beat those Bears. They were a fraud anyway.

Welcome, I respect your organization and like a lot of your players. You even have one of our local guys (Kuhn) that I keep an eye on.

Here's to a clean game with no injuries, and one for the ages.

PS - +1 on Rogers for handling the whole Favre thing with class. Brett could have learned a lot about class from this kid.

This should be a fun match up. I like and respect the Pack a ton honestly. You guys have terrific fans and you enjoy battles in the cold just as much if not more than we do playing up there. Love the match up. So much history between these two clubs. Hope it's one for the ages.

I too am a big Packers fan & also believe Rodgers to be a great qb. When im not watching the Stillers, i watch the Pack. Rodgers was my fantasy Qb:applaudit: with all that in my, i believe we will do just enough to win the game because we can get to Rodgers enough. The game will be decided in the trenches because both teams can be passed on. Good luck & may the best team win.:tt04:

Even though a case can be made that the Eagles outplayed the Packers. And certainly would have won if Ackers makes those two easy FG attempts. I still am not taking anything away from what your team accomplished. And even though I LOVE IT when the national media disregards us. Like they are right now. I still say I to woulkd make you guys the 3 to 4 point favorites over us. The key to beating the Packers will be keeping your teams offense to a one demensional offense. Eliminate the running threat, and that will make things tough for Aaron. For us, the Packers MUST and I think WILL stack the LOS, and take away any early chance for the steelers running game to get going. I even think they will risk single coverage with Wallace and Sanders or anyone else to take away that running game early on. But I suspect a good game. And I do wish you guess well :-)

To this point I've got nothing but respect for the packers and their fans. Haven't found any of them to be like some of the ratbird and jest fans that have been on board.

Welcome to the board, let's have a little fun, smack talk a bit, and enjoy a good game. That ends with the Steelers lifting #7 in center field of JJ's house.

Hey boys, probably don't remember me but I came here last year before my buddies and I came to Pitt for the Packer game. We enjoyed ourselves, BESIDES THE END OF THE GAME!

But I also wanted to say good luck. I respect your team and tradition and I think your fans are right on par with Packer fans as far as passion. The NFL and media outlets couldn't have ended up with a better matchup for the SB.

Greetings....

Grew up, as my handle implies, "InTheShadowofLambeau" - small town Northeastern Wisconsin, 17 miles from Lambeau and 18 miles from Rocky Bleier's hometown of Appleton, WI. Matter of fact, his parents and mine were acquaintances and my parents frequented his parents' restaurant. I almost played ball at the same High School (Xavier in Appleton), but decided I wasn't exactly a parochial high school student, even though my father was a Deacon.

I tell that story because even though I've never met the guy ... his parents were good people, and, because of that, I was a fan of the Steelers in the 70's -- well that, and because the Pack sucked so bad back then that I needed a team to root for throughout the playoffs. Anyhow, I still have my Steelers scarf and have always considered them my second favorite team.

I too come in peace. Just not too big on talking crap at someone else's house. I will admit to opening up with a mighty keyboard if provoked...so be nice. I don't want to get banned here.

From what I've seen thusfar, I have to say that I'm impressed with the level of football knowledge the posters have here. Understand that we Packers fans are used to dealing with Vikings and Bears fans - so it may take us a little time to gear back up to a "human level". Things usually have to be pretty well dumbed down for Vikie and Bears fans. :wink02:

We just had to deal with Jets fans this past week and Ravens fans the week before that...you guys will be a breath of fresh air! :chuckle:

Packers are by far my favorite team after the Steelers, always have been. I like all the NFC North teams (except for the Bears this year, cause I hate Cutler and the Vikes cause Favre annoys me anymore, I'd root for the Lions if they were ever any good), mostly because they play the same style of football as the AFC North. The Pack definitely have the best fans and best owners of any of them though!

Here's to a good game in two weeks! :drink:

Hello! Welcome aboard! I don't know too much about the Pack because I honestly don't follow them. I did like Bart Starr though. What a classy man!

That said, I DO know about Donald Driver and in many ways, he is as good as our Hines Ward. It should be a very interesting match up and trying to keep him covered and quiet during the game.

And then there is your QB. I have to say I know little about him; only thing I DO KNOW is he ain't nothing like Bret Farve. I can't STAND Bret!!

Good luck; I think this is going to be a great game. Just the thought of possibly winning a seventh ring is an awesome thought beyond belief.

we have always been welcoming to opponents fans at steelersfever, and its great to have respectful, knowledgable, members from a different fanbase.

in 05 and 08 we had a good number of seahawks and cardinals fans join. some joined just to thump their chest and tell us how we were gonna get our asses kicked, but for the most part it was great to have them. a few even remained active members for some time.

we love brett favre.

brett favre

i always figured a green bay/ steelers superbowl was just a matter of time (wasnt sure it would be this soon).

in 08, the steelers took on steelers west (AZ) when we faced our old offensive coach and multitude of players. its only fitting this time we get to face our old defense.

i always pulled for the panthers when dom capers, greg lloyd, kevin greene, and barry foster left here just like i pull for all the ex steelers to do well in green bay.

just not in 2 weeks.

if the steelers season does end with a loss, atleast its not to the likes of the jets, ravens, patriots, cowboys, and to a respectable franchise instead.

all you packerfans enjoy your visit to SF. :drink:

It's weird but I am with everyone else for the most part. I could not stand losing to the likes of the New York Giants (what a bunch of douches in New York), Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, (notice a theme here) but the Packers are not objectionable so if we did lose to them I would not fret for weeks on end. Of course, I think Ben will find a way to win this game because that is what he does.

I've never seen so much love for an opposing team on this MB. But, I too, have nothing bad to say about the Packers. A lot of respect for this team. I live in Iowa, and the Packers are always on TV so I follow them a bit. Should be one hell of a game.

I was BORN a Steeler's fan, But respect the hell out of the Packers. Steelers, Packers, now there are two great teams, with rich tradition, from hard working, blue collar towns. This is what football was meant to be! Not some snot nosed, *cough* Ravens *cough* Patriots *cough* Jets...ahem, team with more money and mouth than class.
