Just wondering what everyone thought about hand picking the best 4 linebackers on the steelers roster all time. How about this...
1. Lambert
2. Lloyd
3. Greene
4. Kirkland
I think that is the only way to do it.......you could make an arguement for Gildon and Ham

if bell stayed a steeler his whole career and stayed away from injuries he could have been one

I don't see how you can leave Ham out.

but i think lambert was better than the other 3 by alot. Jack Lambert was probably in the top 5 ever maybe
i think dick butkis was the best ever at the linebacker spot

Where to start??
1.Lambert,He is the best ever.
2.Llyodd, I don`t know who was more feared than these two.
3.Ham, Another HOF`er
4.Baby Llyodd, Gildon started a little late.
5.Andy Russell
6.Kevin Greene was a great NFL player just not a Steeler long enough for top four.
7.Hardy Nickerson, Ditto from Kevin Greene.
8.Dennis"Dirt"Winston
9.Joey Porter, 9 and moving up
10. Levon Kirkland
11.Bryan Hinkle
12.Chad Brown, wasn`t a Steeler long enough
13.Mike Merriweather
14.James Farrior
15.Earl Holmes
I could go on, there are so many All Pro Steelers Linebackers, I think one time for fun I counted and there were on like three out of the past 35 years that a Steeler linebacker wasn`t on the probowl team or selected a probowler. 32 out of 35 years many more than one, and you can compare that to the browns not having any probowlers since the late eighties.

Definately gotta give props to James Farrior so far in his time w/ the Steelers.. the guy is just a complete LB that does everything you ask and more.
I always like Holmes, but he constantly got beat in coverage, and u just cant have that.

sticking to my original all time Steelers team list(had to search for that thread):
Lambert, Ham, Russell, and Lloyd. Good we can pick four, cause Pro bowl still only 3.
