Terrible Towel Stories

My dad worked for Gulf Oil for 28 years, and was officed at the Gulf Building in Pittsburgh (you old farts know what I'm talking about). By the time the Terrible Towel came out, we were already in Texas. A Gulf Oil friend in Pittsburgh sent my dad an original Terrible Towel, and my dad gave it to me.

I keep it vacuum sealed in a safe, and only take it out for special occasions. :tt02:

So, does anyone else have any good TT stories and memories?

As part of my Sunday morning routine, I have my breakfast, read the paper then when its about 30 minutes before kickoff, I put my jersey on, get my snacks together and then I pull out my Terrible Towel out of its original packaging and wave it for the next 3 hours. :tt05:

not a TT story but my grandmother worked there for 25 years. retired in 1987. i still have her gold (lapel/tie) gulf logo pins they gave out for 10 and 20 years of service.
