Here's the latist info about our Steelers billboard from the TD site:

January 26, 2011 – Of the two SB bound teams, the Steelers fans cast 143,290 votes compared to the Packers fans 141,371 votes thereby winning the fifth Tempt Destiny billboard in support of their team's SB XLV bid on Sunday, February 6, 2011 (see final totals (http://temptdestiny.com/eng/stats.html)). On behalf of their fans, the Steelers have accepted their gift of support. LAMAR Outdoor of Pittsburgh, PA, has agreed to sponsor the Tempt Destiny billboard. The location of their digital billboard is right by Heinz Field. Fans at tonight's rally can see it there! Send Us Your Photos!
Steelers fans are invited to send in their photos from tonight's Pittsburgh Steelers Rally at the Stadium. We will gladly post them to share with the Steelers Nation. Send in your photos via email to: admin @ temptdestiny.com (copy the address and get rid of the spaces before and after the @ symbol). Personal Note: Since the billboard can clearly be seen from Rivers Casino parking lot, you may want to go there and take a picture of yourselves with the billboard visible behind you. Just saying...

Slogan Change
As requested by the Steelers organization, the original slogan proposed for the 5th Tempt Destiny billboard of "Steelers Tempt Destiny!" was changed to "Go Steelers!". They were not comfortable with the phrase "tempt". We trust Steelers fans will be content with this change and not get superstitious about it. Keep in mind, that evidence shows us that destiny is about choice, not superstition.

Prediction or Coincidence?
Since 2000, only one of the SB bound teams (without a TD billboard) which had the most TD votes also wound up winning the SB. This does not include the Giants (3rd TD billboard) or the Saints (4th TD billboard). As seen in Table 3 from the results of this experiment, the Steelers was that team. Now that they won the TD billboard of chance (indirect choice), does it mean they are destined to win again? (SEE RESULTS (http://temptdestiny.com/pdf/TDE_tables.pdf))

I have to disagree, I'm not biased at all btw :chuckle:

btw do people really believe this stuff? 4 for 4 could still be coincidence. Now if they do this 10-10 then maybe. but 4 is still a rather small enough number to be pure coincidence

If you are talking about superstition, then I agree. No matter how many times something happens, "10-10" that only means that it happened ten out of ten times. I think what Morales is getting at is that there are ONLY two types of choices in nature a.k.a., " two different types of Tempt Destiny billboards, one of choice and one of chance. (http://temptdestiny.com/)" ... and when we know the choice made, we know if the outcome is certain or probable.

MT. LAUREL, N.J., Feb. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Football fans participated in an online experiment in support of their team's bid to win SB XLV on February 6, 2011. Each time a Tempt Destiny (TD) billboard is created the team featured goes on to win the big game, a 4-for-4 track record. College professor Manuel Morales created an online medium through which fans choose which team will be on the next TD billboard he creates, and in the process, verify the theory of everything put forth by Albert Einstein's notion of hidden variables.

"If one understands that destiny is a predetermined event or series of events and that all events are fundamentally moments of energy, then it can be understood that destiny is the proverbial theory of everything," says Morales. "A popular misconception about destiny is that predetermined events are assumed to be certain. However, evidence shows us that this is not the case."

With the help of thousands of football fans participating in this study since 2000, Manuel Morales has compiled evidence that the hidden variables Einstein pursued in the final thirty years of his life, consists of direct and indirect selection which gives us predetermined states of certainty and probability of physical properties and events. In his research paper recently published by the General Science Journal, a publisher of papers on theoretical and applied physics, Morales defines this fundamental interaction of nature as choice-chance mechanics (see http://wbabin.globat.com/ntham/morales.pdf).

As of January 23, 2011, the TemptDestiny.com competition for the 2010 season concluded with an indirect choice - SB bound team with the most votes - going to Pittsburgh in support of their SB XLV bid. On January 26, 2011, the Pittsburgh TD billboard with the slogan, "Go Steelers!", went on display on Lamar Outdoor's digital billboard located at 501 Fontella Street, Pittsburgh, PA.

The TD experiment seeks to demonstrate that when a direct choice takes place, the outcome is certain, and when an indirect choice takes place, the outcome is probable. Should Pittsburgh win the SB (cause), the unfinished artwork can then be completed by painting the football silver to commemorate the trophy won (effect). This cause and effect tradition is how these billboards came to be called, Tempt Destiny billboards. Come February 6, 2011, the probable completion of the artwork will be established.
