Starks, Colon expected to be in Steelers team photo

Former starting tackles Max Starks and Willie Colon, who are on injured reserve, will travel with the team to Super Bowl XLV and are expected to be featured in the Steelers team photo. Green Bay starters Nick Barnett and Jermichael Finley, who also are on injured reserve, complained via Twitter this week when they learned wouldn't be included in the Packers' team photo. But the Packers announced Wednesday that the photo has been rescheduled for next Friday, which will allow injured players to take part. The Packers photo originally was expected to happen at Super Bowl media day Tuesday. The Packers' injured players are not scheduled to join the team in the Dallas area until next Thursday. "Every organization thinks differently," said Starks, who started seven games before suffering a season-ending neck injury. "My philosophy is, if you put a hand in that pile, you contributed to get this team to this point, and you earned that opportunity to be there." Colon injured his Achilles tendon during the offseason and missed the entire year, but he still attended practices and attended every game. "You figure, if you really want those guys there, you make a way for them to get there," Starks said. Quarterback Dennis Dixon, punter Daniel Sepulveda, receiver Limas Sweed and safety Tuff Harris are also on the Steelers' injured reserve.

Defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau, whose contract expires after this season, said Wednesday that if he coaches next season, it will be with the Steelers.

"With this defense, with this group of men, they'll have to run me out of here," he told NFL Network.

Various outlets reported that LeBeau would consider joining the Arizona Cardinals' staff next season.

Starks said he's recovered from his neck injury and resumed workouts three weeks ago. "I'll be back (next year)," Starks said. "I'm ready. I've been cleared no restrictions whenever we get our contract situation (collective bargaining agreement) out of the way."

The Steelers followed their normal early-week routine, including Troy Polamalu skipping Wednesday's practice to rest his strained Achilles tendon. The injury has been bothering him since November, and Polamalu has been resting after games and only participating in the final practice. It's anticipated he will follow the same procedure leading up to Super Bowl XLV. The Steelers will practice two more days this week before resuming practices next week in Texas.

Along with Polamalu and Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey, defensive end Aaron Smith, cornerback Bryant McFadden, tackle Jonathan Scott and safety Will Allen all missed practice.

At least our coaching staff and front office staff isn't like the douche bags from GB. Ridiculous excluding injured players from a team photo. They have since retracted their idiotic behavior...

So are all our IR players going to be in the photo or just starks and Colon? I hope they include dixon and sepulveda in there since they did work to help us get here. (poor sepulveda was injured the last time we were in SB too!... maybe a good omen? LOL)
