They say he plays bigger than he is.....if that's the case, I'm sure 5'10 1/2 will work out just fine. Great hands and runs great routes, sounds good to me.

that's pretty amazing i know people who can't even jus\mp a bar 3/4 of their height, so to jump a foot over his height is pretty amazing!!!!

Santonio Holmes ..... What a gigantic pick.... he was by far the best overall WR in the draft.... PERIOD.

A skilled gamebreaker, who could help the special teams if needed... and most of all a WINNER who understands what it takes to be a champion.

I am so pumped about this pick

If the guy is as fast as they say he is, then I don't believe his height will hinder him one bit. There's no substitute for speed.

If he's fast and can jump like a jack rabbit I doubt he'll have too much trouble. Watch for this guy to do big things.

I bet he'll catch more deep balls that require jumping over a DB than Plexiglass will.

All I have to say about Holmes being too short is Steve Smith. Smith is even shorter then Holmes and Smith dominated the NFL this past year. Holmes reminds me alot of Steve Smith. Plus Holmes won't have to carry our offense like Smith had to carry the Panthers offense. Santonio Holmes will just have to fill a role. His role will be big plays.

Week1 against the Phins Big Ben to Santonio for a 45 yard TD. I'm calling it right now. I love the fact that the Steelers are providing our young franchise QB with weapons. Here We Go Steelers Here We Go.

Big Ben to Santonio will be a deadly combo for years to come. I love the running game but I'm really looking forward to that aerial assault of Roethlisberger and Holmes.

Holmes is taller then Steve Smith. Steve Smith was the best reciever in the NFL this past year. Holmes has alot of the same skills as Smith. So no Holmes isn't to short.

Considering that the coaching staff and most fans felt we needed a BIG receiver adn the ones we got didnt exactly work out well the past few years... i think the Steelers and fans dont really give a shit about height as much as playmaking ability so i dont think it matters what size a player is or else we would have taken jackson instead of Holmes. They want speed and speed is what they got twice. We have 3-4 WR that have a 4.3, 4.4 speed.

speed kills. and holmes sounds like he could outjump jackson and buress for a jump ball.

and bens tall. he can see them shorter receivers. now that hes got his accuracy back its almost guaranteed atleast 2 guys are open on most 3 wr sets. and all our divisional foes think they caught us wounded without jerome and theyre gearing up to stop our run.

The receivers that had the biggest impact in the league last year were all under 6'0. Steve Smith, Santana Moss for example. We have entered a new day and speed kills, which is also why they picked the kid from Florida State.

Right on. The days of the tall receiver are nearly a thing of the past. There's still a couple of taller receivers that are pretty good but geez, they're not that much taller than the 5'10 or 5'11 guys and they're certainly not as agile.
