Who was the most valuable steelers LB this year and why?

harrison is the meanest, most feared, most fined, most intimidating, most held, hardest hitting, violent linebacker in the nfl.

if it werent for his league imposed tarnished image, and all the legal holds allowed because he is "too short" he likely woulda been the defensive MVP for a second time.

It's hard to go against 92 here.

Pick your poison. They're all great this year. I thought Timmons had the breakout year we've all been waiting for. He led the team in tackles and he was our best linebacker in coverage. He gets my vote.

a case could be made for all but I'll also have to go with 92

Harrison is the obvious answer, and you can't go wrong there. But I'm going with Timmons. He stepped it up this year.

Definitely Larry Foote.

Without his leadership and experience on the sideline...

Okay... I can't go any further.

Put me down for #92.

Hey! Don't dis on Larry Foote. You know you're only as good as your weakest defender. Having a guy like that to come in at the heart of the D is a heck of a lot more valuable than most people think.

Our LB Corps is the best bar none, certainly the best that I can ever remember.

Harrison has my top pick because of his overall dominance this year although all of the LB's had great defensive plays this season.

Anybody got Keyaron Fox yet? Just joking. :chuckle:

I'd have to say Deebo too with a nod to Timmons. He looked great this year and will only improve. I also like how Woodley has once again turned it on at the end of the season and playoffs. Definitely Harrison though.

Even better than the '94 squad? That was a pretty linebacker-rich team there.

No true hate towards Foote, either. Your point is exactly why Pittsburgh is so successful. Team.

Harrison, hands down. all our LB'ers are great and played well but Harrison is the best and personally i feel he deserved the defensive MVP (yes even over Troy)

As good as Timmons played (most of the time), Harrison still led the charge by a mile.
Add to the fact, that he completely disrupts the OL and the game, and when he's not registering stats, he's allowing for our other LB's to ring up their own stats.
There is still film of him getting held alot...i imagine what his numbers would be if the ref's were calling the holds against him and the OL weren't allowed to hold on him.

I'll have to go with Harrison as well...I think some actually fear playing him.

I'll always have a soft spot for Farrior and Woodley though...they're pretty high up on my list as well.

Harrison was 3rd in defensive player of the year ranking, so technically he's the mvp of steeler linebackers. Though they all had very good seasons they year.

its tough to pick against any of our LBs, they've all had amazing seasons

That being said, its hard to pick against Harrison given his comprehensive stats leading the others in sacks and forced fumbles and tied for INTs

I honestly don't see any weaknesses in the Steelers' linebacking corps. From starters to special teamers, they all can play.

I'll give it to the captain for holding them together!
