This from USA Today

The Pittsburgh Steelers will snag their seventh Super Bowl title this weekend in Dallas -- at least according to Madden NFL 11.

Electronic Arts has unveiled their annual prediction for the outcome of Super Bowl XLV, based on a simulation of the game run through Madden.

The results? The Steelers hang on to defeat the Green Bay Packers 24-20, thanks to a late interception by Aaron Rodgers in the closing moments.

Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace finished as the Super Bowl MVP with 5 catches for 111 yards and the game-winning touchdown.

Before casting doubt on the accuracy of these prognostications, the Madden NFL simulations have proven to be quite good at selecting the correct winner. EA Sports has nailed down the winner of the Super Bowl six of the past seven years, including last year.

The lone miss happened during Super Bowl XLII, when the New York Giants upset the New England Patriots.

EA has also posted a video recap of their Super Bowl XLV prediction:

Sounds good to me. Not sure if this is factual, but a friend told me that the two simulation games Madden '11 did for both conference championship games predicted both winners AND the correct final scores, also. Anyone know if that's correct or not?

The Madden simulation predicted the winners correctly but not the scores. See here:

You are correct. Close, but not right. Guess my friend can't read. :noidea: Thanks for the correction.

All Madden is so real with a lot of this stuff, its scary.

I'm having trouble getting the lineups right, because of the dam iinjuries etc. Mainky on the steelers side. Reed v Suisham on turf is even up. But I'm missing some of the subs now starters, like legursky.

I had the Steelers over the Jets 27-20.
