Ben Roethlisberger will be involved in another legal situation with a woman he may or may not be sleeping with ... when he SIGNS A MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE ... and it's all going down in July.

TMZ has obtained a copy of Ben's "Save the Date" cards ... informing guests about his Summer marriage to Ashley Harlan.

Ben and Ashley are all set to tie the knot in Pittsburgh -- but they haven't revealed any specifics about where it will go down.

I really do hope this is the sign of things finally being over with for him. No more immature and rather irresponsible actions, nights, incidents for Ben.

Motorcycles, college bars, hotels and what not. Y'all know what I mean.

good luck Ben. Only time will tell.

:iagree:

He should wait until he's done playing. There's plenty of time to ruin his life after retirement.

Considering that Ben and his family have deep roots of being a Christian family and since Ben has obviously had his fun (if you wanna call getting accused of rape twice fun) then I'm glad he's tying the not. I mean, that means no more punk ass obligations in the off-season, right?

A good Christian woman is a woman of value and one who can keep Ben at bay with warm, love-felt love. That's EXACTLY what he needs and I'm not even religious. Hopefully it pans out and we can go along winning a couple more, if not, 3 more Super Bowls with #7 under center with his CORRECT head in the right place.

Were the past two offseasons just practice runs? :wink02:

I hope he settles down, but we'll see. :noidea:

:sofunny: Good point.

I was speaking more as someone who so far has avoided marriage, and just wants to see others share my success. :chuckle:

As a fan, I'm all for Ben settling down.

Apparently not planning to go on a long honeymoon to an exotic destination if he is getting married on what usually is the last Saturday before training camp opened - what a romantic guy

Maybe Roethlisberger agrees with Peter King there will not be a CBA when camps are scheduled to open:noidea:

Summer wedding bells for Roethlisberger?
Would-be in-laws have no comment
Sunday, February 27, 2011
By Karen Kane, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Ben Roethlisberger's would-be in-laws are staying mum on wedding plans for their daughter and the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

David Harlan, reached this morning at his rural home outside New Castle, said he had no comment on a TMZ.com report that Mr. Roethlisberger and Mr. Harlan's daughter, Ashley, would tie the knot on July 23 in Pittsburgh.

In pleasant tones, he advised that it would be up to the couple to decide what to say and when to say it.

TMZ.com said it had obtained the couple's "save the date" announcement.

News media reported in January that, during the holidays, the couple had become engaged to be married. Mr. Roethlisberger declined at the time to confirm the reports, as did Ms. Harlan's family.

Ms. Harlan grew up in Hickory Township, Lawrence County, where her parents still reside.

She is a graduate of Laurel High School, where she played softball. She also holds a bachelor's degree in health science and a master's degree as a physician assistant from St. Francis University in Loretto, Cambria County.

God, I just hope he has the sense to get a pre-nup signed. If things go bad, there's goes half the money he's made. Only in America can someone do nothing....then take 1/2 your money for everything YOU accomplished.

I wholeheartedly agree: congrats to Big Ben and Ashley. I sincerely wish them the best. (Especially if it means Ben gets his head on straight and brings a few more Lombardis to Pittsburgh!)

The division of assets laws depend upon the state. Stay away from California - don't even think about buying a home there as you will automatically be classified as a Cali resident and subject to their divorce laws. The Lauren Holly effect - you'll get royally screwed over - just ask Jim Carrey. To this day he's still applying ointment for that reaming she gave him.

Mistake. Too much ahead of him to tie the knot this soon.
Just because he doesn't want to be a dog in bars anymore
doesn't mean he has to go all the way to getting hitched. There
_is_ a middle ground.

That is good news and another indication he is trying to rebuild his life off the field - his sister's team went to the Final Four last year and she stated he did not attend one of her games during the 2009-2010 season

Ben's wedding comes close to training camp
Tuesday, March 01, 2011

By Sally Kalson, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Ben Roethlisberger will get married in Pittsburgh ... and honeymoon in Latrobe?

The Post-Gazette has confirmed that the Steelers quarterback will be married July 23 somewhere in the Pittsburgh area to Ashley Harlan, of Hickory Township, Lawrence County. The website TMZ originally reported the news over the weekend after people began receiving "Save the Date" cards from Mr. Roethlisberger and Ms. Harlan.

The two were engaged around Christmas. Mr. Roethlisberger repeatedly has declined to talk about his engagement and did so again today through a Steelers spokesman.

The July 23 wedding won't give Mr. Roethlisberger much time for a honeymoon. Steelers training camp traditionally opens in late July/early August at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe.

Meanwhile, the couple apparently have signed up for at least two online bridal registries -- assuming the listings are legitimate.

An entry on Macy's bridal registry under "Ashley Harlan and Ben Roethlisberger," with a wedding date of July 23, 2011, reveals a taste for neutral color and simple design.

White porcelain dishes ($84 for a four-piece place setting), serving dishes and bakeware; unadorned stainless steel cutlery ($63 for a five-piece setting), an ice bucket and serving pieces of polished metal and wood; Champagne flutes and wine glasses ($50 for a set of four) are all on the list.

Another listing under "Ashley Harlan" at Crate & Barrel, also with the July 23 wedding date, has one unusual item: a plush, burgundy-colored chaise lounge with a curved arm and a $1,200 price tag. The other items are less than $50 -- white earthenware serving bowls and platters with ruffled edges, mixing bowls, a hand-blown glass pedestal and glass storage containers.

Online bridal registries are easy to fake. One, under the name "AshleyandBen" on Amazon lists handcuffs, padlocks and a dog muzzle.

Wayyyy too many of you talk about marriage like it's a bad thing. Maybe you had a negative experience, or just have your biases, but believe it or not, some marriages just work.
