All of use, me included, need to forget bothering to
discuss free agents comings and goings. The lock out
is a given. And once that goes down, there will be no
free agent moves at all. The draft will still happen, so
we can keep discussion going there.

But, the lock out is a given. There is no question it's gonna
happen.

And since the owners have no problem with putting on the brakes
now, it is a given they are up for a long period of work stoppage.
The players won't feel the pinch unless this goes for a while, and
the owners won't be put out a bit from this; they won't have to change
their life style one bit. They got plenty of cash reserves. Many
players do not, even thought they certainly SHOULD. No one
ever said all the players were smart.

So, free agency discussion is worthless, or at least until the lock
out is over, and that is likely to not be very soon.

so does that mean we can stop all the non-sense about signing Nnamdi Asomugha?

The draft is worthless for the 2011 season as well. There will be no Maurkice Pouncey for the Steelers this year. Meaning we really can't upgrade our corner situation with free agency or the draft to help for 2011. Team personnel will be very similar to what they had in 2010. This is probably a good think since we made it to the SB this season. This draft will be to help for the 2012 season and beyond.
I'm guessing the lockout doesn't get settled until late August/ early September and rookies will get virtually no time in their new teams system.

I hope so, b/c chat on that is worthless regardless if we have
a lock out or not. Pgh never pays for top $ FAs, period. They are
the last team that would sign him.

You are probably right; owners want to use this opportunity to make a
significant dent in how much $ players get. They can afford to wait it
out, players, by in large, cannot. Owners will not blink. The fact that it
is so bad that they stopped meeting (before the window dressing of the
govt. negotiator - where nothing is getting done - was only for PR
purposes) because they were so far away from even discussing the
options. Owners are still making $ but not enough. I never met a rich
person who said, "Well, I am making enough now, that is good enough."
They never think like that. And I am sure these owners do not as well.

They will squeeze these players for 2 extra games while making less of
the total %. The economic reality is less people have money to pay
for NFL stuff, and that isn't changing - probably EVER. We are not in a
recession, we are in a global, engineered retraction. Any thing that looks
like economic growth is a facade. Yes, Wall St. and big biz are making $
again, but the average person is making less and less and it will continue
to go that way. Bank on it. The richest 1% will soar, while the rest will get
boots to the dome.

If it's not one thing, it's another :shake01::rolleyes::blah::coffee:

If the lock out is for sure, then I'm e-mailing Ben and Wallace to play on my flag football team. We don't have mandatory work outs and no personal conduct policy. I'll even buy both of them a pair of shoes.

That's a good one, Wally. I wonder why no one has talked about that yet. :noidea:

After that, can we talk about if we think 2Pac is dead or alive?

Has anyone ever taken the time to think about why we're all here on this planet?

The meaning of life?

And why does 7-11 have locks on the doors if they're open 24 hours?
