Charlie Sheen escalates war of words with TV bosses

By Christine Kearney Christine Kearney 2 hrs 6 mins ago

NEW YORK (Reuters) Actor Charlie Sheen escalated his war of words with his former "Two and A Half Men" employers on Monday, demanding a pay rise as his lawyer threatened legal action over canceled episodes of the top-rated comedy.
Sheen, whose erratic behavior has put the future of his show in jeopardy, boasted on Monday morning chat shows about his partying lifestyle and said he was tired of pretending he is not "a total frigging rock star from Mars."

Hours later, his long time Los Angeles publicist quit, saying he could no longer do his job.

"I have worked with Charlie Sheen for a long time and I care about him very much. However, at this time, I'm unable to work effectively as his publicist and have respectfully resigned," Stan Rosenfield said in a statement.

Sheen, the highest paid actor on U.S. TV, launched several expletive-filled rants last week against "Two and A Half Men" creator, Chuck Lorre, causing the CBS network and series producer Warner Bros (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110301/media_nm/us_charliesheen;_ylt=AmUxhx_aaUa29HTU_ovjohRxFb8C; _ylu=X3oDMTJrYW00dXYzBGFzc2V0A25tLzIwMTEwMzAxL3VzX 2NoYXJsaWVzaGVlbgRwb3MDNQRzZWMDeW5fYXJ0aWNsZV9zdW1 tYXJ5X2xpc3QEc2xrA2NoYXJsaWVzaGVlbg--#). Television to cancel production for the rest of the season.

Sheen's attorney on Monday sent letters to CBS and Warner Bros. demanding that the actor be paid for the eight episodes that will now no longer be made, the companies said.

According to celebrity website TMZ.com, the letter claims that Sheen was ready and able to go back to work, and is owed payment of roughly $16 million because of the shutdown.

Sheen said in an interview aired on "Good Morning America" that he would defend himself through "violent hatred" aimed at him, and he felt let down the show was stopped.

"I was actually disappointed," Sheen said. "People misinterpret my passion for anger."

Speculation has been rife about the future of "Two and A Half Men" would continue next season, with or without Sheen's leading role as a womanizing bachelor -- a part that seems to mimic the actor in real life.

He told NBC's "Today" show on Monday that returning would require a pay rise, saying the roughly $2 million per episode he makes now is too low. "I am a man of my word, so I will finish the TV show. I'll even do Season 10, but at this point, (because of) psychological distress, oh my God, it's 3 mil an episode. Take it or leave it," he said.

"I'm tired of pretending like I'm not special," Sheen added. "You can't process me with a normal brain."

Production of "Two and a Half Men" was first suspended in January when Sheen, 45, was persuaded to seek help after a 36-hour cocaine-fueled party at his home.
ABC News and celebrity website Radaronline had Sheen's blood and urine tested, and revealed no drugs in his system for the past 72 hours. "I am on a drug. It's called Charlie Sheen. It's not available because if you try it once, you will die," ( )he said in the ABC interview.

The last time he took drugs, which he estimated to be about a month to six weeks ago, Sheen said he was "banging seven gram rocks and finishing them because that is how I roll."

He was now bored with drugs, he said, but boasted about his old partying ways. "The run I was on made Sinatra (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110301/media_nm/us_charliesheen;_ylt=AmUxhx_aaUa29HTU_ovjohRxFb8C; _ylu=X3oDMTJrYW00dXYzBGFzc2V0A25tLzIwMTEwMzAxL3VzX 2NoYXJsaWVzaGVlbgRwb3MDNQRzZWMDeW5fYXJ0aWNsZV9zdW1 tYXJ5X2xpc3QEc2xrA2NoYXJsaWVzaGVlbg--#), Flynn, Jagger, Richards, all of them just look like droopy-eyed armless children."

CBS is part of CBS Corp and Warner Bros Television is part of the Warner Bros unit of Time Warner Inc.

(as he's referred to his two live-in girlfriends)
yep...he's insane... only took one to push me over the edge.

Charlie Sheen's Kids Removed By Police (http://omg.yahoo.com/blogs/thefamous/charlie-sheens-kids-removed-by-police/758;_ylt=ApyzA92VXp.8U82zIge1I2BB2xx.;_ylv=3)

Charlie Sheen (http://omg.yahoo.com/charlie-sheen/celebs/295) has surrendered his twin sons to estranged wife Brooke Mueller (http://omg.yahoo.com/brooke-mueller/celebs/1046) after she slapped him with a temporary restraining order. TMZ reports that police removed the toddlers (http://www.tmz.com/2011/03/01/brooke-mueller-charlie-sheen-child-custody-twins-bob-max-death-threats-divorce-temporary-restraining-order/), who turn 2 on March 15, from Sheen's L.A. manse late Tuesday, infuriating the actor."I am very concerned that he is currently insane," Mueller stated in legal documents. "I am in great fear that he will find me and attack me and I am in great fear for the children's safety with his care."
Sheen is not allowed to step within 100 yards of Mueller or the kids; according to legal documents, Sheen allegedly threatened Mueller with a very violent act while they were vacationing in the Bahamas last week.
A visibly angry Sheen denied her story in another interview (http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/41865110/ns/today-entertainment/) on the "Today" show this morning. "I did not. That's a good one, I guess; I guess if you spend enough time around me, you can formulate things that could have come from my mouth. But you could do that watching reruns," he said, making an odd reference to his shuttered sitcom "Two and a Half Men."
Sheen says he was blindsided (http://omg.yahoo.com/news/mueller-says-she-got-order-because-of-threats/57540) by the removal of his two sons, Bob and Max,
"It came out of the bleachers, actually," he said. "Yeah, I was told a restraining order was being delivered and I thought, 'OK, I can deal with that.' And it was revealed that it was something much more serious."
The actor, who paraded his "goddesses" (as he's referred to his two live-in girlfriends) on Tuesday's "Today," remains hell-bent on using the media to spread his bizarre gospel of "winning." In the last 15 hours, he's joined Twitter, picking up close to 1 million followers.
A tweet (http://twitter.com/charliesheen/status/42820611424272384) he sent Tuesday night seemed to reference the restraining order and its allegations: "My sons are fine ... My path is now clear ... Defeat is not an option ...!"

Good, I'm glad they took the kids out of that house. Whether he's full on crazy or not, I don't know...this could all just be for attention for all I know. But parading those two barely legal girls around on TV (one's a porn star, the other is a "model") and announcing that they help him take care of the kids was insanely stupid of him. I'd have done the same thing, regardless of real or imagined threats. Either incident would have provoked me to do what she did.

Well, look at it this way...he has a horrible track record, not only with drugs, but with violence. Specifically violence against women. (I still remember when he "accidentally shot Kelly Preston in the arm back in the early '90's).

He's been arrested for domestic violence (including second degree assault and menacing) against Mueller (she claimed he threatened to kill her at knife point...this was after the twins were born), and was charged with felony menacing, 3rd degree assault and criminal mischief (he plead down to misdemeanor assault). I somehow doubt that she'll have trouble convincing a judge that he threatened her again.

Couple that with his drug history (which he just started "home rehab" again in late Jan. of this year), and it's a wonder anyone has ever let him have any kind of custody of children.

He's famous and has lots of money. With all the shit he's done to himself and others, he's lucky to not be behind bars for life. If it were any of us, we'd be lucky to see the light of day let alone have unsupervised custody of any children.

I hope, for the kids sakes, that whatever family court judge he gets doesn't treat him with kid gloves again. He doesn't deserve it IMO.

crack is.

he was asked if there were any drugs in the home and his answer was "well theres millions of places drugs can be hiding here, [in his mansion] so yeah, but no".

crackheads and tweakers like him are notorious for stashing shit from themselves to have it for later (many times forgetting where they hid it).

theyre also notorious for getting sloppy while high or jonesing and spilling it out of their pipe when they attemp to light it. thats why you see them geeking around on their hands and knees when their stash is gone.

if he is "banging 7 gram rocks cause thats how he rolls" chances are some was spilled or dropped.

all it takes is a 2 year old picking up a rock off the carpet and puting it in their mouth and they could be dead.

He's a danger to her, but that doesn't mean he is to the kids. He could be a terrific father, no one knows. It's a tremendous leap to say he's a bad husband or boyfriend ergo bad father. I know plenty of people that don't belong in relationships but they are wonderful parents.

:sofunny: You're a lawyer, so you might know more about it, but I would think threatening the life of the mother of your children is a little bit more than just being a "bad husband". And if proof comes out that he actually did threaten her again, then that shows a pattern of violence/intended violence. I think if it were you or me doing that to our significant others, and had charges and restraining orders put against us, a judge wouldn't think twice about stripping us of our custody rights (or greatly limiting them).

Well...to put it this way, I guess it's all in the hands of what kind of custody the mother files for and what the family judge decides.

My daughters sperm donor had never laid a hand on her, and was...for a while...a good father (I almost threw up typing that). That is, until he decided to start doing meth again and smacking me around (which he was arrested for). I filed for sole custody and his only visitation rights were supervised. He had about two of those before he split town, pretty much never to be heard from again.

Maybe the laws are just more lenient in Cali than they are here...I don't know. A normal joe (yes I know Crazy Charlie is not that), wouldn't have the same custody rights here with that kind of history, not from what I've experienced.

The implosion continues ...

Charlie Sheen's "My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not an Option" tour opened in Detroit on Saturday night with a boom. By the time he stepped off the stage a little after 10 p.m., it was an official bomb.

Wearing a Detroit Tigers jersey with "Warlock" emblazoned on the back, Sheen delivered a monologue, played videos, sat in the front row and talked loosely with the audience. But it didn't result in much of his famed catchphrase: "winning."

In front of a rowdy, often-dissatisfied sold-out Fox Theatre audience of 4,700 people, the embattled sitcom actor ranted and raved about anything and everything.

Trust me, "this is going somewhere," Sheen said as the crowd pondered his self-declared "radical" opening monologue. The 20-minute speech included many of his catchphrases, along with sayings like, "one giant heartbeat and one conscious thought."

But about 30 minutes into the show, the usual Sheen-isms started to sound old and tired. From the men's restroom to the expensive seats in front, it was a restless crowd, delivering plenty of jeers and only a few cheers.

The show had video montages throughout, including a "20/20" outtake reel that showed off his self-deprecating sense of humor. His so-called goddesses helped him burn a "Two and a Half Men" bowling shirt. Before it was all over, he asked the crowd if the goddesses should come out again. And then he asked them: How many goddesses do you have?

The show was a reminder that the pop culture phenomenon is serious about his beliefs, but most of the crowd wasn't entertained by the loose and disorganized attempt.

Valerie Piascik, 23, of Harrison Township said the videos were better than Sheen's live performance. "Wow, I am not sure what that was," she said from outside the Fox as Sheen was still on stage.

Bryan Gill, 53, of West Bloomfield said he was hoping for the best but saw the worst. "It was absolutely disappointing," he said. "Truly, it sucked."
