Thanks for the feedback.

The reason I picked Wilkerson, is because at the point where we are picking, he will probably be the best player available.

However, if say an OT like Derrick Sherrod, is available, maybe the Steelers grab him in the first round.

Then they can take Darius Morris the OT/G out of the 5th round and grab a DE prospect there. Maybe a small school guy like Cedric Thornton, who played at Southern Arkansas. He is 6'3 and 309 lbs. He is the same exact build as Ziggy Hood, who is already on our team and maybe he can be as big of an impact. :wink02:

I still say Pouncey's going to be there when we pick. Who the hell else is going to take a guard in the first round? If he's there, we pick him. Period.

If anyone does take him right before us (maybe, possibly the Cheats) that means either Sherrod or a quality corner like Aaron Williams or Brandon Harris will be available. The math works well for our needs in the first round, I think.

If Pouncey is available he is definitely the pick. I don't really like Aaron Williams... he just seems more of a free safety than a cornerback (kind of in the mold of Malcolm Jenkins who played CB in college but now plays safety for the Saints), but Brandon Harris would also be a great choice. :tt:

I like the second a lot better. While DE is a position we certainly need to address, it's not a big enough need to warrant a first round pick yet unless the right prospect falls into our laps, and Wilkerson is not that. If there are no CBs, tackles, or Pouncey left at 31 worthy of a first round pick I say we trade back.

Those were my thoughts exactly when I made the second draft.

Also, I know DE isn't a big need, but it has about the same need as when we drafted Ziggy Hood, if not more. Aaron Smith cannot stay healthy and Brett Keisel has been getting injured lately as well. With Nick Eason the only real serviceable backup besides Ziggy Hood, it still qualifies as a need. If the Steelers like Wilkerson, they will make the choice. However, there is depth this year for defensive ends. It all depends on what the Steelers want to do.

the only way were getting Pouncey is if we trade up

Wouldn't you get more then a 4th round pick for trading down into the 2nd. I could swear Cleveland moved up one year to draft Brady Quinn and gave up a future number 1 pick. Maybe I'm wrong?
