View Full Version : All time Steelers with no ring!

Thought we would try something new! Everyone add a player to the list, copy , paste etc.

Looking for the "Steelers All Time Didn`t get a ring team"
This year Faneca, Ward, Bettis, Hampton, Porter all got their rings, who are some of the most deserving former Steelers.
I'll start with Dermonti Dawson! Our great former Steelers center, he would be very desrving of the Ring!

That's who I was thinking of when asking the question. I guess he does have a ring, no matter how ugly the emblem on it may be.

Dirt deserves several.

Why is Kordell on the list? He DESTROYED chances for SB rings, not created them. Look at the Denver playoff games, where he repeatedly made bad decisions which resulted in INT's, sometimes even in our own endzone.

This list begins and ends with Rod Woodson. We should have won SB 30 for him, coming back from that injury...

There are NO Steelers QB's between Ben and Bradshaw that deserve a ring...well, maybe Bubby Brister. If his talent was 1/10th as pronounced as his heart, he'd have been the next Marino.

Bubby protected his players...I saw him get in fights with DL from the other teams. He's the only QB worth a shit in my book since Bradshaw. I supported Kordell while he was here, but I'll be good and goddamned if I'm gonna support that selfish SOB after he's gone.

That's as much as I can give... i agree, but id hate to think of graham and tomzac leading the steelers through the kordell era as qb. the rooneys werent exactly free spending in free agency back then. but admittedly for kordell money in 2001 we probably couldve landed an elvis grbac type of player. not that im a kordell apologist there just really is no other answer.

Without question Chad Brown...and the putz could have had one anyway but ego couldn't be a backup.

Dermonti Dawson is number one on my list.

Everyone can knock Neil until they are blue in the face but the fact remains he and Trent Dilfer made it to the Super Bowl.

And Id opt for Mark over Green even though Green was better. But you have to be ON the field to actually contribute.

I agree with the Merril Hoge call.... his performance in Denver in 89 was amazing... a true Steeler.... I cried after that game.... than again i was 12
I think Searcy won one with Baltimore
Gotta go with Tunch at one of the O-line spots

I agree. I was just about ready to post the same thing. I think that John Jackson is far more deserving than Wayne Gandy. Gandy was a free agent pick up while Jackson was a long tenured Steelers draft choice. I move to veto the Gandy selection. I would even prefer to see Justin Strelzyk over Wayne Gandy. Strelzyk and Jackson just seem to have more Steeler in them.

Im sry i just have to disagree with Kordell. Maybe when he was 'Slash' but as a dedicated QB there is no way he deserved a ring. Niel o'donell? He threw 2 of the worst int's of his career in the SB. He wouldnt deserve it! My 2 have already been said Greg Lloyd and Levon Kirkland(first jersey...a little biased) :)

Thank you...I've had trouble with this list since he was established on it. Since the list is about ex-Steelers who DESERVE a super bowl ring, I still say Brister or maybe even Mike Tomczak are more deserving. Neither was loaded with talent, but they overachieved, and were fiesty, fiery players...I've seen both pick fights with 300 lb DL.

Very true but Green still only played a few seasons for us. I just think of Bruener is more of a Steeler then Eric Green. But to each their own.

Yea, we're saying all time Steelers with no ring, and i tihnk being a "Steeler" means more than having played for the team and produced. I think it's more of a mentality. Yea, Eric Green led the team in recieving for 2 years straight, but how mcuh did he do for the community, how much of a leader was he in the locker room, and how much did he care about the organization? I think in those areas, Bruener definately beats him out.

Who put Fu on there? All time Steeler? Hardly. I'd actually put Bam Morris above Fu as a running back.
