Did anyone hear about the Steelers being interested in Kevan Barlow?? I heard that the Falcons are thinking about trading TJ Duckett for that 5th round pick we offered, or they might just cut him. But I also heard, if nothing happens with Duckett, that the Steelers would try to make a move to acquire Kevan Barlow. Does anyone know anything about that? I would enjoy watching Kevan Barlow in a Steelers uniform....

I've heard nothing about Barlow in the local news or media. Going by comments from team management, they seem content with the RB unit we have going into camp.

The signals I'm hearing wouldn't suggest anything other than this is Verron's year to become the No. 2 man. And I'd like to see that.

Barlow has decent numbers.

Maybe wouldn't be a bad pick-up if possible.
Barlow had a 1000+ yds in 2003 and fell off a bit the next two seasons in a pathetic 49er offensive system.

Maybe a change of scenery would help him out??

I'd be interested in Barlow. It's weird, because him and Fred Beasley had a pretty hefty feud going for a couple seasons, but, between the '04 and '05 seasons, Barlow worked SO hard to improve himself that even Beasley (who hates him) complimented him on his work ethic. The guy just had NOBODY helping him in San Fran...I think he could really flourish in a healthy pro-run environment...

Thank you. I really thought he was older!

just a rumor but i was told by a niner fan that ike taylor was the one going to be dealt if barlow ends up in the burg.....and im sorry but if thats true that is a horrible move...and i personally never seen much in barlow anyway. he never hits the whole with any authoirty and seems to have fallen into what eddie george fell into when he went down hill. now the duckett move would make sense but would we cut duece?

Somehow I just can't see that happening.

That would be a fair trade...if they threw in next years first and second round picks as well.

That sounds like PFT.com type crap...

I don`t see Taylor being dealt for a RB!

Barlow is on the verge of cutting cut, so we'll see what happens when or if he gets cut....

We do not need a RB

Actually, I think Barlow would be a considerable upgrade over Verron Haynes.

I think Barlow would be an upgrade over Staley. He's 33 & he's consistantly getting hurt, he's great when he's healthy but that's hardly ever. Keep Haynes, he's younger & has more potential.

Barlow would be a better addition than Humes to the team :)

You cant judge how good Barlow can do because remeber he did play in San Fran and they didnt have the best line in the world. If we get him fine, if we dont, fine.

ive never been a big fan of barlow myself but in a good system i could see him flourishing....but atlanta is about to release tj duckett so why not go after him and cut staley....u could still have verron as our number two going into camp and let them fight for it...now obviously tj would be the jerome of last year comming in in yardage situations but that is a huge upgrade in the backfield
