Anyone notice James Harrison stopped running hard after Ryan inside the redzone. Matt Ryan rolled right and James was in pursuit but he seemed to pull up. Is he still injured cause I've never seen James not be able to go 100% on the field.

It was preseason, so I don't know. He seemed to be going pretty hard after the quarterback

Harrison was getting ice on his back after he played - he appears to be hurting

Without a healthy Harrison bringing pressure (no sacks in first half last night as Steelers gave up 260 yards) the pass D will continue to suffer

He probably isn't 100% and it makes sense if you aren't you don't try to blow up every play. And let's take a look at who Harrison replaced. Wasn't it a guy named Porter. Why do we draft LB's every single year. To get ready for times like this. He'll be alright come first game.

This excerpt from a Trib-Review story this morning

James Harrison wasn’t much of a factor in the Steelers’ 34-16 win against the Falcons, and Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan did not get sacked despite throwing 42 passes against the first-team defense.

There probably is a correlation between the two as Harrison is the Steelers’ most decorated — and probably feared — pass rusher. And after the Steelers improved to 2-1 in preseason play, the outside linebacker admitted that he is still working himself into playing shape.

“Eventually I’ll get to full strength,” said Harrison, who underwent two back surgeries within a month during the offseason. “When that will be, who knows?

“It’s more trying to get into game shape, trying to get the back to hold up the same it did the first play as it will the last play. That’s something that will come with time. The longer I’m out there the more I get games in and reps in and the better it will get.”

I bet his back surgery during the off-season had something to do with his lack of speed. I just hope he recovers completely and be ready for the regular season games. He should not have played in preseason if he wasn't ready. It would be a shame if he is not 100% ready when the season starts.

I noticed alot of times he dropped back. If he's this bad off during pre season, whats it gonna be like during the regular season.

I'm feeling it this morning, guess it's going to take a little longer to get back to normal than I thought!

I was worried about Polamalu having recovery issues but it appears Harrison will be the one nowhere near full strength for the start of the season

Just preseason. Maybe a little worn down or nicked up but come start of the season, it's on.
