If you want to take this down that road, you know where the blast furnace is.

Copying and paste? Well obviously. Your point? They are called statistics. Something your team lacks in comparison to ours.

What am I trying to prove? That maybe you should move on to the Cardinals board and try your weak and pathetic trash talking. Talk trash on a team that's on the same standards as your own team. Your making an ass out of yourself.

You have the highest win percentage? Seriously? Here's a cookie junior. Nevermind those rings or playoffs births..........just give me win percentages. Nevermind those rings and playoff wins. :sofunny:

Your not worth it. Personally, I can't believe I went this long and took the bait from a Dolphin fan....LOL. It's been fun. Read the numbers.

Jimmy James

Making an ass out of oneself?

The truth of what I said follows no matter what team we're talking about. There have now been 40 Super Bowls. Here is a complete list of teams that successfully defended the title:

Green Bay
Miami
Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh
San Francisco
Dallas
Denver
New England

That's 8 out of 39 (since you guys haven't gotten your chance yet, it isn't 40). Let's just say it's 40 so the math stays easy, though. That means there is a 1 in 5 chance (or 20%) that Pittsburgh will repeat based on past history. Lets's say the Cardinals win next year. The same stat will apply. The same stat would apply if Miami wins next year.

Nowhere in this thread did I suggest Miami was going to win the Super Bowl next year. I'm hopeful just like I'm sure you all are. I'm not the type of person to take ofense to somebody making the truthful statement that my Dolphins probably aren't going to win next year, though. No one team is probably going to win it next year. That's just a function of probability.

Maybe before you go the cut and paste route next time you'll read what was written and not just post the first thing that comes to mind.

William Munney

Okay, the Dolphins coming off a 9-7 season will probably be playoff team. A Super Bowl team no.

As for history the Dolphins they had two great seasons including the 14-0 season. Since then they had one of the greatest QBs in history and only made one Super Bowl appearance, pathetic.

Do you remember Bob Griese's last game? It was a beat down in the playoffs by the 79 Steelers.

And Dan's final game, now that was bad. Sadly...

Trust me -- my fellow fans and I know it better than anybody. Why oh why couldn't Shula get Dan a defense or a running game. Either one would have been enough. Don't even get me started on the Johnson years and how if he had just let Dan do his thing instead of acting like he was the world's gift to running an offense, it might have worked out.

Im not trying to get in between your gouys little arguement but the dolphins wont even win thier division next year. And dont even say "but we ended the year on a 6 game winning streak" that doesnt mean anything. We ended the year with a ring and we still are overlooked for next season.

It's pretty clearly a 2 team race for the East. The Bills and Jets are out of it going into the season.

As I recall, you guys didn't even win your division last year. Look how that turned out.

The thing that gets me psyched is that the Dolphins rolled the Chargers when the Chargers had something to play for. That was impressive. I also love the win over New England. Don't even get started on the "they were playing to lose" garbage, either. That's all on them and is pretty pathetic if it's true. A division win is a division win in my book.

ETA: As fond as I am of the Bengals (mostly due to fantasy considerations involving Palmer and Johnson), I find it hard to believe anybody other than Bengals and Browns fans are overlooking you.

I just find is hilarious that we have a Dolphin fan telling us our chances of repeating are slim. If I was a Dolphin fan, I would worry about winning my division before worrying about if the Super Bowl Champions are going to repeat.

You might want to worry about your own division before you go taking half-swipes at friendly fans of other teams who come visiting. It's not like you won it last year, and it's not like the Browns or Bengals are sitting still.

Like I said, it's like beating up a blind midget who is also retarded with no arms or legs.

This is the second time you've tried this tactic. I'm too classy to bring it down on you where the people who bring us this board don't want it. Take advantage of that if you're frightened, or meet me down in the smack forum if you want do to it right.

First off the Bungle run D has not improved, they are TERRIBLE!!!!!:dang:

finally QB is fine

What are you sure about that? Daunte is coming off a terrible injury. Didn't he tear all three of his ligaments in one of his knees? Daunte might not be ready for the start of the season for the Phins. Plus he was playing horrible before the injury. If Daunte isn't ready then its up to Joey Harrington. Harrington has been nothing but a bust so far in his NFL career. Maybe a change of teams will do him good. But who knows which leads me to my point that the Phins QB situation isn't fine as of right now. Still alot of question marks if you ask me. Daunte's health and Joey Harrington is just a question mark period.

I wouldn't pay that much attention to what Clayton is saying about the D-line. Nick has brought in a ton of bodies at that position. As your fellow Steelers fan pointed out, QB is not exactly fine yet. That said, it is improved over where it has been in the post-Marino era. At worst, Harrington is a younger Frerotte in my book.

Bottom line..

* odds are always against a team winning back to back championships
* the schedule is going to be alot tougher this year
* everybody in the league is gunning for you and wants what you have
* Miami has a chance to make the playoffs this year if they dont do their usual late season
slump and stay healthy.
* odds are against us, yes....we but tend to like those kinda odds :tt: :tt:

Bottom line..

* odds are always against a team winning back to back championships
* the schedule is going to be alot tougher this year
* everybody in the league is gunning for you and wants what you have
* Miami has a chance to make the playoffs this year if they dont do their usual late season
slump and stay healthy.
* odds are against us, yes....we but tend to like those kinda odds :tt: :tt:
Yes indeed we do!

And we aren`t talking just any old team repeating. This is the Pittsburgh Steelers! We are two for two, when having a chance to win back to back!
GO STEELERS!

I don't put much stock behind a teams "chances" of repeating. I see absolutely no reason why we can't and won't repeat.

Right on. It's all a mindset IMO. We have a close team that fights hard for each other. Plusssssssssssssss, we now know what it takes to win the big games. Thats the only thing we lacked in previous years, in my mind. Thats why teams that have won the big ones, usually continue to win the big ones for a while after their first. We got it now! :bouncy:

Yep winning that first one is always the toughest. So this current team has that out of the way now. Steelers are in very good shape to repeat. Only things that could stop us is injuries and if we beat ourselves.
