Joey Porter's feeling that surgery... man, I wonder what the story is there? He didn't get hurt in the Superbowl, that I remember.

I suggest watching the clip titled "UNCUT: James Harrison On His Super Bowl Ring" and the clip titled "Steelers Get Their Super Bowl Bling" for the best viewing of the ring.

Yeah, sorry about that first picture. First one they put out in the media. The three in the first post are the best pics of the ring.

Exactly!!

I think the rings look great.
Keeping in typical Steeler style.......there's nothing over the top flashy or gawdy about them and they don't look like they're made to be worn on two fingers at the same time like some of the ones made within the last ten years.

Thats a good point I think, but having looked at pictures of all the SB rings to date most teams seem to put all the franchise rings on each ring.

From what I understand some of the players from the past did receive the ring also, and they did not win all of them either. It is just a team thing and none of us will be privy to all the whys and why nots one did or did not receive a ring. I like them.

I believe I heard that when Denver won their first Superbowl a few of the old time Broncos got complimentary rings.......Tom Jackson, Karl Mecklenberg...etc.

NM this new steelers ring is like a "throwback" ring. looking at rings past i really like the steelers IX and X, and how the face is almost shaped like a stadium.

green bays 1st one is nice, but the cowboys 4th one is awesome. i like how its all gold without all the black enameling. 49ers 4th and patriots 3rd are nice to.

but without a doubt the denver ones, rams, 1st patriots, and especially the ravens are horrid. they look like cheezy belt buckles liberache would wear.

I need a picture of all five rings together! If anyone comes across it let me know! http://www.steelergridiron.com/histo...s/sbrings.html you can make one from this link. unless you meant an actual picture of them all assembled together, then youd have to talk to joe green, d1ck hoak, or the rooneys.

Who are you to doubt the taste of Liberace? :sofunny:

The first 6 are excellent in a retro type way - the Dolphins first one is not good and second one looks like a Lexus headlamp - ugly.

The Raiders ones are nice (The Patriots incorrectly claimed to have been the first team to use white gold) - especially the LA Raiders one.

The Broncos have consistently the worse ones I think.

The first two Patriots one to vaguely resemble something i'd expect to see wrapped around Hulk Hogans waist (I deliberately used a very dated wrestler, so no-one would think that I still watch it!)

Right, thats quite enough fashion talk for now - I have got well and truly in contact with my feminine side.

*AHEM* IT'S BLACK AND GOLD,NOT GOLD AND BLACK!

I really like the ring,it's not very gaudy and it fits perfect for how the Steelers do business.I can't wait for Josten's to release the info for the replica fan rings, cuz I am getting one.

And I like that it incorporates all 5 Super Bowls on it.Like Bettis said, they lived in the shadow of the 70's Steelers and walked by the those four Lombardi's every day for years. Now they finally have thier own.

Totally agree. When this current team won the Super Bowl XL it was like a weight had been lifted from the players. Those great Steel Curtain teams left a legacy that won't be matched. But at least these current players now feel they are finally on the same level as those great Steelers teams. So I think all 5 should be included as well.

tony hipchest

Anyone know how much the rings are valued at? Also who pays for the rings? the rings were valued at about $5000 apiece. the nfl pays for 150 rings up to $5000. any additional diamonds, additions, or rings for additional personnel are funded bu the team. patriot rings were said to be valued at $20,000. the extra $15,000 apiece coming out of krafts pocket. many players (im thinking j. harrison) will take their rings in and have extra bling added on their own. this is what dave megget did with the ring he had on e-bay a few months ago.

Cleve, the NFL pays Super Bowl winning teams $5,000 per ring for up to 150 rings. So I would say the Steelers ring at least is worth $5,000.

The ring the Pats recieved for the third Super Bowl was reported to be valued at $20,000 a piece.
