Looks like Deion Branch is the latest Patriots contract hold out, which is unavoidable given the degree of success this rookie class has experienced with the Patriots.

He has missed the first day of a non-mandatory TC, but the rest of the Patriots 1st team are there so a statement is definitely being made.

On the plus side, it appears that he is taking the route taken by Richard Seymour last year - no talking to press, no bad mouthing the team management - this is business, pure and simple.

Feeling in Patriot world is that Belioli do not rate WR's in the same pay league as DL - so its going to be tough for Deoin to get market value for his services at New England.

Personally, I love the guy - hard working and a real team player Branch suits the Patriot system to a tee - im hoping they can get a deal done.

I'm sure a deal will be worked out. Belioli might not rate WR's in the same pay as other positions. But so do the Steelers and they still resigned Hines Ward. The Steelers have let their share of recievers leave town. Yancey Thigpen, Plax Burress and Randle El are three that come to mind off the top of my head. So I could see the Pats resigning Branch like the Steelers resigned Ward.

Deion Branch fits the Pats well like Hines Ward fits the Steelers well. Plus Deion Branch and Hines Ward are two of only four recievers to ever win Super Bowl MVP.

Well, I hope you are right 32.

I would put Hines in the 'spiritual leader' category for the Steelers, and they were obviously contemplating the future loss of Bettis whilst in the negotiations last year.

Branch has had some awesome games - especially in the big games, and they dont get any bigger than the Superbowl - that MVP record that Hines and Deion share is one to be proud of.

he'll follow seymore to the bank with ty law in tow. it might not be this year but hes just testing how much leverage he has with b. johnson being shipped off.

the Patrots will be fine in the secondary this year. Even without Law, they get Harrison and Gay back from injuries, they've signed Warfield and Tebucky Jones (who belichick will get the most of ) and Wilson, Samuel, and Hobbs are coming back.

Yeah, I think that's the story. At the moment I'm not worried. As cleve said, he's worth more anyway.

If all else fails, Givens will have to step up, and I still don't think anyone has seen what he's capable of yet.
