An injured Gilbert playiing left tackle for 3 or 4 plays is already better then a healthy Scott for the whole game.....

A win is a win. Even if it is an ugly win. I'm glad Ben is as durable as a clydsedale. Anyone else would have been destroyed.

Just tuck your tails and get out of Indy, happy that you got a win.

Road games don't come easy.

Especially from a team that was desperate to prove to national audiences that they're not just the Peyton Manning show. We have to get better but we just gotta move on and take care of Houston next week which will be a challenge for sure.

Ben throws a pick 6 or Mendy fumbles in Steeler territory, take your pick. Adam "clutch" Vinatari kicks the winner.your an idiot.

Yea, I really like Gilbert. I was high on him when we drafted him.

Yeah it was almost as good as getting Pouncey's twin brother. The two were roommates and are really tight. I think Gilbert can be a good one. This game showed he's tough. Perhaps we bring back Adams and put him at RT and put Marcus at LT. Not big on Scott like everyone else obviously.

Are you guys are getting complacent with the Steelers playing down to their opponents' level?

Kanata-Steeler
09-25-2011, 10:42 PM
my quick take on this is,
The Colts would have gave any other team a scare too.
Mr. Experience, Kerry Collins just needed a few games to adjust to Peyton's Team. -that's all. And, we all saw that tonite.
Texans next week will be a good game too. We'll adjust, but Ariens is still a 3-trick clown.

The Colts deserved that game. I think Mr. Scott is finished....totally outplayed the entire game. Mr. Flozell, your phone is ringing.....

Moore put his head down and went after it!

Yeah, but he had a different offensive line than Mendenhall so it was easier for him. :banging:

That wouldn't be bad at all. As long as Flozel is healthy and in shape, but of course how do we sign him with barely any cap space..?

Used to it. I am not happy with the way the game played out but I'll take a W. And besides didn't your Ravens do that with the Titans last week? The team didn't impress me at all tonight but I am used to this team winning ugly. If you remember our last SB winning year there were many ugly wins that year.

Yeah unfortunately the leverage is all on Flozell's and not the FO. He doesn't have to play since he's probably content to be retired. I tell you what really I think screwed things up at LT though, Max Starks showing up hitting 400 pounds. That really pushed our hand. Not excusing Scott's LT play but damn.

About as ugly as a win gets. The number priority going forward needs to be establishing the run game. The Steelers could not run the ball at all for most of the night until inexplicably on the final drive of the game. I thought Pouncey really struggled tonight as well.

09-25-2011, 10:48 PM
Thank God that's over. I'd be more comfortable playing a JV team in their protecting Roethlisberger. I seriously don't know how the guy survives. I don't know what else there is left to do, but we better find it quick on that PATHETIC and NAUSEATING offensive line if we want to simply contend.

A win is a win, We gave em 13 points with the turnovers, and anyone who thinks that the Colts would have rolled over and played dead On a Nationally televised game is out of their mind. I figured this would be a tough one and we luckily won.
A lot of people will be hard on Scott and rightfully so (he was awful), but he was matched up against a future HOFer in Freeney, and Freeney has made a lot better OT's than Scott look as bad or worse.
I beleived this to be somewhat of a trap game with us going to Houston next week, but for craps sake we have to attempt to establish the run early. If Mendy wants to try out for Dancing With the Stars then put Redman in there.

I am sure , though, in the next week we will have the usual suspects whining about how we are awful and the sky falling.
My guess is we will be 12-4 or 11-5 by the end of the year and getting our groove on for a playoff run. I refuse to be pessimistic at this point of the season especially with a winning record.

Total homer bias here because I know nothing of his skill set but I'd like us to sign Ed Wang, only because our fathers used to work together and I met the guy a couple of times and even tried jellyfish at his house :). I really hope we can get a great tackle in the years to come.

We got a long way to go before we can even think we have a legitimate shot this year.....We have to be able to run the ball if we're going to Pass Protect like that....

On D, we have to stuff the run way better.....Man I love A.Smith but he got his ass kicked out there tonight....Multiple times he got taken out of the play by just one dude....He used to drive back two regularly

Pass D is still Mediocre as usual.....but not being able to stuff the run is really playing with their heads

I go to Virginia Tech, get me as many Hokies as we can get lol

Seriously though if we're not going to sign Flozell or Starks, literally anybody on the free agent market has to be an improvement over Scott

In fairness to Scott, Dwight Freeney has made many, many tackles look foolish.

Ha, yeah. Yeah I'd prefer one of Max or Flozell since they know our system and players but if not, we need some new blood. I am a little ticked off that Starks showed up to camp looking like crap. I mean the guy was by no means an all pro LT but he got the job done. The good news is I guess that GIlbert looks like he could be a piece.
