This is how I feel. We can sit at our computers all day and offer what we think about what ben is going to do next. Is he going to ride again? with a helmet? Does he think he is invisible? Will he be gun shy in games, afraid to take hits b/c he is having terrible flashbacks to his face hitting a windshield?

HOW THE HELL DO WE KNOW.

The only one who knows is Ben himself. We are making alot of judgements based on what KDKA says.

Last time i checked, KDKA does not play football.

Its been 3 days since the accident and we havn't heard a comment from Ben?

I think the threads about helmets, mental problems, speculations about his ability to come back, and everything else that most likely no one in this forum has any personal experience with.

Lets give ben some room to breath, let the legal side clear up and give Cowher a chance to do something, and then we can decide, when ben takes a snap and throws that first pass, if and how the wreck is affecting his football abilities.

IT IS ONLY DAY 3, we have 83+ days till the season opener, everyone needs to call down a little bit.

No offense, but good luck with that.

#1 - It's the offseason.

#2 - It's being talked about nationwide.

#3 - Speculation is part of being a fan. Good or bad.

I think that his mentality will be fine. I don't see him being gun shy. Sure, he will overly protect his face while it's sore but the soreness will go away in a couple of months and he'll be back to normal. If you think about it, his injuries are located in the area that defensive players are forbidden from striking. Extra padding in the helmet, a heavily padded chin strap will absorb a lot of the shock when he's hit.

The man is tough. We all know that after seeing him come back from the knee injury last year and not to mention that he played the latter part of the season with a chipped bone and partially torn tendon in his throwing hand. We've seen plenty of boxers take some wicked shots. We've seen plenty of hockey players struck in the face with 100mph pucks causing them serious injury. What most of them have in common is the fact that they come back and play at the same level as before the injury. I see Ben doing the same.

I agree. The last few days have been traumatic enough as fans. And since we do know he is alive and well, let him have his time, let THE CHIN get a hold of him and Mr. Rooney, then let him prove that he's the same #7 (if not better).

(raider fan) thinks
That's an oxymoron.

Anyway, I don't think it'll effect him mentally at all. Unless a Car busts threw the stands onto the field.
