There's an odd trend that says the Bengals will sweep the Ravens this season. Cincinnati has won both meetings with Baltimore three times in the previous six seasons and each time it occurred an odd-numbered year: 2005, 2007 and 2009.
Whether or not this streak will continue this year, you have to assume that Sunday's game, the teams' first of the season, will be a close one based on the Bengals' track record in Baltimore. Since Marvin Lewis became Cincinnati's head coach in 2003, the Bengals have split the eight trips there and have not lost by more than seven points since the 2003 season.
In fact, since 2004, the Ravens have lost more times at home to the Bengals (four times) than the Steelers (twice). Last season, Baltimore did beat Cincinnati 13-7, but it was a struggle. The Ravens' offense produced a season-low 199 yards.
