I live here in Chicago and Martz is on his way out after this season. There are a lot of complaints about how complex his offensive system is and how it did not work here with the Bears because they didn't have the talent.

When it does work - its deadly but he needs an accurate QB and 3 super speedy receivers.

Hmmmm....

With everyone calling for BA to be out - would you want someone like Martz here? With Wallace, Sanders and Brown - he would have what he's always wanted - clones of Holt, Bruce and Az-Hakim.

We could have one potent offense - like the Packers but we would forget how to run the ball and put more pressure on our defense.

I am not a Martz fan so I would be against it but I couldn't think of any team with better WR talent for a Martz type offense than the Steelers. Just asking.

norv turner.

mike martz kills qb's and ben is abused enough as it is. i'd rather keep arians.

norv turner has had like 5 different rb's on 5 different teams lead the league in td's or rushing yards (as HC or OC), while still fielding a potent passing attack. plus he likes the tight ends (novachek & gates) which martz clearly does not.

emmit smith (multiple rushing yard and td leader) had his nfl td record broken by steven davis, which was then broken by ladainian tomlinson. ricky williams and frank gore led the league in rushing yards and td's respectively.

Curious if the packers are going to sling it all over the place in January in lambeau in frigid weather.

If they make it to the SB - they are lucky that its indoors in Indy.

I think you're confusing Rodgers with Manning. Rodgers doesn't need to play in a dome. He can play anywhere. His game is practically flawless.

Have to agree here, looks like old Norv is pretty much as good as gone. He would be a decent pick up and truly two steps ahead of what we have, he relies on the run game to set up the pass just ask Tomlinson, Sproles and now Ryan Matthews, I would like to see it!

Wow, I HATE Norv, it would kill me to see him here as an OC, he is a perenial loser IMHO. But I agree he would probably be an upgrade to BA so I guess I could swallow my discontent if he could fix our Offense.

I know some people don't like hearing it but our OC next year will be Bruce Arians. His offense is showing it found its way and he's said in numerous interviews that his passion is back for the game because of the young talent we have and his relationship with Ben and Tomlin. Say what you want about the Rooney's, but our front office hates change and our offense has shown major improvment after the first 4 games of the sesason, ranking in the top 10 in offense.

Arians will have another year to mount on top of this (if we end well.) Other than that, I just can't see someone like Norv Turner on our sidelines. He is a monumental failure and fits into the mold of guys like Marty Shottenheimer, who was known to turtle ball from time to time, keeping the offense back. Atleast now, we don't sit on a lead.

Regardless of what Steelers fans say, I'd like to see Arians have another year at it.

While I do not like BC's game plan since it lacks any creativity or seems to never give us a match up advantage with the personnel we have, I do agree that barring a complete meltdown of this team stemming from the offensive side of the ball will result in Arians being back again next year.

I like what Arians does in between the 20s and I like how he's letting Ben just wing it with his new receivers. But his playcalling in the redzone is absolutely abysmal. Guys like Brees make it look easy when he's inside the 5 and makes Jimmy Graham do a quick slant for the score. Ben scrambles around and tries to hit his receivers at the corner or back of the end zone. There's just not enough time to do that when you're that close to the goal line.

IDK, the offense has evolved with BA and Ben at the helm, I think breaking that up might make the offense step back a little. That is just my belief.

Yeah, kudos on the facts there. I would take Turner over Martz as well...then again I would take almost anyone over Bruce...

I would never have believed that on this board I'd ever read the phrase: " i'd rather keep arians."

Maybe, I should go buy a lottery ticket or somethin'...

Wow.

Right on! Some people are made to be OC's rather then HC.

I hope Arians enjoys his retirement
