After the Texans and Packers losing today think about how huge the 49ers game is, if we win tomorrow night, regardless of what happens in the Ravens game Pittsburgh will be regarded as a legitimate Superbowl favorite, I know to most of us they already are but to the rest of the world a lot of teams have taken a step backwards this week and the Steelers have a chance in beating the 10-3 49ers to take a giant step forward.

The game is HUGE if the RATBIRDS lose. Then the #1 seed would be ours with a win and wins in final 2. Otherwise it really doesn't mean much as we are already in.
The Packers losing means nothing to us.

It is huge in a non statistical sense. If the steelers win its mostly bragging rights, its in a psychological sense

beating the 49ers will mean nothing if the Ratbirds beat the Chargers other than keeping pressure on the Ratbirds to keep winning.

What I'm saying is regardless of seeding, the momentum of pittsburgh steamrolling a few winning teams on their way to the playoffs while other teams such as the packers and texans stumble into the playoffs just looks better.

Well, that depends on one thing. With a win, do we no longer sit in the wildcard and move up?

if we don't win the division we will be the number 5 seed regardless of record by us or other teams

the Packers losing was completely inconsequential to the importance of tomorrows game outside of the extremely improbable chance of the 49ers somehow grabbing the #1 seed, at the very least they'll still be fighting for the #2 seed and a bye as the Saints won to keep that pressure on, a loss tomorrow would dump the 49ers to the 3rd seed

the two good games for us was Houston losing and the Bengals winning (and some other AFC 6th seed teams losing to encourage the Bengals to keep winning to secure the 6th seed by beating the Ravens should the Ravens beat the Chargers)

With the Broncos and Raiders both losing, it gives the Chiefs just a bit more incentive to play hard. This game just became a little bit more important, because apparently A.J. Green suffered a grade 3 shoulder sprain. Reportedly he can play through the pain, but it certainly doesn't help the Steelers' cause at all to have one of the two teams that have a legitimate chance of beating the Ravens have arguably their best player at less than 100%.

If Ravens lose - should Ben play - obvious answer - yes if possible and if he gives us the best chance to win.

If Ravens win - should Ben play - previously, I had said no to this. But the Ravens still have a tough game left in Cincy in week 17. And Cincy has motivation with Jets, Broncos, Raiders all losing, they just moved up on the totem pole for the last wildcard spot. For this situation, it all depends on Ben - if he feels he can play - then I say yes as we will need to keep up with the Ravens. Losing to SF in this situation means that we are down 2 games to the Ravens.

It's not looking to bad for the chargers right now, the ravens don't seem to have very much going on and the chargers are playing smart. As I was saying tomorrow night's game is going to be HUUGGEE
