WHAT TO LOOK FOR

PITTSBURGH TEAM NOTES• Pittsburgh looks to sweep the regular season series against Cleveland for the seventh time in the last eight seasons and for the 11th time since 1994.
• The Steelers look to improve to 333-208-1 all-time against AFC opponents, including 9-3 this season.
• A win will mark the Steelers 16th victory in the last 17 games against Cleveland.
• Pittsburgh looks to improve to 62-56 versus the Browns during the regular season, including a 24-35 on the road.
• The Steelers look to win their fourth consecutive game against the Browns.
• The Steelers look to finish 4-2 against AFC North teams this season.
• Pittsburgh looks to earn its sixth victory in the last seven games.
• The Steelers look to record their third shutout of the season, which would be the 30th shutout since 1960, tying Chicago for the most in the NFL over that span. It would also mark the sixth shutout of the Mike Tomlin era.
• If Pittsburgh records the third shutout of the season, it would be only the second time since 1960 that the Steelers recorded three or more shutouts in a single regular season (5 in 1976).
• Pittsburgh’s defense will look to hold its 15th straight opponent to 23 points or less (0, 20, 17, 17, 13, 20, 17, 23, 17, 9, 7, 3, 20, 0).
• The Steelers look to hold fifth opponent under 10 points in the last six games (9, 7, 3, 20, 0).
PITTSBURGH INDIVIDUAL NOTES

Head Coach Mike Tomlin
• With a win will record 12th win of the season, marking the third time in the past four seasons the Steelers have won 12 regular season games (2010, ‘08).
• Will look to improve to 9-1 against Cleveland and sweep the season series for the fourth time in five years.
• Will look to improve to 55-25 overall during the regular season.
• Looks to improve to 22-8 against AFC North opponents.

QB Ben Roethlisberger
• Looking to record his 80th career win in his 113th career start, becoming the fourth quarterback who began their career in the Super Bowl era to reach 80 wins in 113 or fewer starts: Tom Brady (104), Roger Staubach (105) and Ken Stabler (112).
• Will look to improve to 80-33 as a starter.
• Looks to improve to 33-9 as a starter against the AFC North.
• With a win will improve to 14-1 as a starter against the Browns.
• Needs 473 passing yards to break his own record (4,328 yards in 2009) for the most passing yards during a single season in franchise history.
• Is 144 yards short of his second career 4,000-yard season (4,328 yards in 2009).
• Needs 37 completions to eclipse his own single-season franchise record for the most completions in one season (337 in 2009).
• Looks to throw for at least 300 yards for the fifth time in the last nine games. Would mark the 21st 300-yard passing performance of Roethlisberger’s career and the sixth of this season, setting a career-high for 300 passing games during the regular season (five in 2009).
• Looks for sixth 100.0 rating of the season and 47th of his career.

QB Charlie Batchhttp://www.steelers.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/charlie-batch/a4741ee1-4d87-4810-aa6d-7ede57104771/)

WR Hines Wardhttp://www.steelers.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/hines-ward/8a520076-6343-42ce-a89f-28a7dc97c67a/)
• Needs five receptions to reach 1,000 for his career. He would be eighth player in NFL history to reach the mark and the first in Steelers’ history. Ward will become the second player in NFL history to reach 1,000 career receptions and win multiple Super Bowls (Hall of Famer Jerry Rice ).
• Is three yards away from passing Derrick Mason (12,061) for the 18th most receiving yards in NFL history.

WR Mike Wallacehttp://www.steelers.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/mike-wallace/304eecdf-1b60-4dc4-9cd8-7808d9f5c97a/)

It will also be only the ninth time in franchise history a player recorded 1,200 receiving yards in one season. It will also tie him with Yancey Thigpen (2) for the most 1,200 yard receiving seasons in Steelers history.
• Needs two receiving touchdowns to mark his fifth career multi-touchdown game and second of 2011, and give him 10 receiving touchdowns on the season, making him the second player in Steelers history (Hines Ward: 12 in 2002, 10 in 2003) to register back-to-back seasons with at least 10 receiving touchdowns (10 in 2010).
• Is 76 yards short of setting a single-season career-high for receiving yards (1,257 in 2010).
• Needs nine receptions to mark the ninth time a Steelers player recorded at least 80 receptions in one season and the first since Hines Ward registered 95 in 2009.
• With 100 yards receiving will record his 13th 100-yard receiving game of his career and the fifth of this season.

• Needs eight yards to surpass Chad Scott (368) for the 10th-most interception return yards in a career in Steelers’ history.

LB James Harrison

A Steelers win and Ravens loss will make this the best Jan 1st ever.

I know its early but the Bills just went up 14-0 on NE. If NE loses, Pitt wins, and BAL loses, doesnt that add up to homefield advantage throughout the playoffs for us?

Pitt 12-4
NE 12-4 but we have tiebreaker over NE with head to head win earlier this season.

Correct?

Im sure Tom Terrific isnt going to let that happen for us, but boy wouldnt that we an amazing turn of events?

Ben looks pretty bad, but again, its better to play and be bad now than in the playoffs when he needs to be good.

Hopefully he improves and shows some signs of progress this game, because if he doesn't I don't think i'd want him starting in the playoffs, he may just be done for the season IMO.

I would take Ben out if another drive fails. He's obviously rusty but he's putting himself in danger of getting hurt worse...I'd rather him stink it up in the first half of a playoff game then not play in one at all.

I'd rather him not play at all in the playoffs if he doesn't show signs of improvement in this game to suggest he could do well in the playoffs.

The cliche line a few weeks ago was "I'd rather have a 75% Ben than a 100% Batch", the problem with that line of thinking is that the difference between, good and elite really is only a few % points, Ben at 75% clearly was nowhere near good enough against the 49ers. Or maybe he was worse than 75%, but my point is that I'd honestly likely rather have Batch or Dixon playing in the playoffs if Ben can't prove he's 90+% capable

I know all these percentages are subjective and how do you measure them, but according to the announcers before the game, they said Ben estimates he is 60% and was 40% at San Fran.

Surely a 100% Batch is as good if not better than a 60% Ben

Ben's moving around on that ankle a LOT better than he was against SF. I really don't think it's the injury as much as it's just being out-of-sync. He'll probably do a better job in the second half. Tomlin needs to go tell arians that empty set is out of the playbook right now.

If you want to pass deep, do a play action,

guarantee that if the teams would have been reversed, PI would have been called on the play that Cotchery almost caught the ball on.

CLE defender had his hands all over Cotchery

Another pitiful red zone performance. Ultimately it wont matter cuz BAL is going to win, but FGs against pitiful teams is not going to cut it.

Cleveland has moved the ball the last two times with the wind. Defense needs to step up maybe take some of the scoring load themselves here. BTW have we had a Defensive score this year.

man, i got no complaints with troy this year. Aside from earlier in the year when he was plagued by some injuries and had to play way back off the line, he's been absolutely stellar, a defensive back beast.

Since Redman just gained some yards on a play....what do you do on the very next play? Run Redman again, of course!! Were they expecting it? YES
