AFC North 2011 records and milestones

PITTSBURGH STEELERS

-- Team qualified for the postseason for the seventh time since realignment in 2002. Club has 33 postseason victories, tied with Dallas for the most in NFL history.

-- Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had 4,077 passing yards and has recorded the only two 4,000-yard seasons in franchise history.

-- Running back Rashard Mendenhall (29) surpassed Hall of Famer Franco Harris (28) for the most rushing touchdowns in the first four seasons of a career in franchise history. Hebecame the eighth player in Steelers history with at least 25 rushing touchdowns.

-- Wide receiver Hines Ward became the first player in franchise history to record 1,000 career receptions.

-- Mike Tomlin became the sixth head coach to win at least nine games in each of his first five seasons since 1970.

-- Tomlin joined Pro Football Hall of Famer Chuck Noll (193), Bill Cowher (149) and Raymond "Buddy" Parker (51) as the only head coaches in franchise history to reach 50 regular-season wins.

And as Dick LeBeau said recently on his facebook pageor the record: "Your Pittsburgh Steelers finished 1st in OVERALL defense, PASSING defense, and SCORING defense."

Yet the 2 number one seeds both boast the worst defenses in the NFL....and they are probably the odds on favs to go to the SB. So this is Goodell's NFL..... I guess we have to live with it.


Notice the best teams in the NFL are the best QB's in the NFL. Its' all about your ability to pass the ball now. If you can't do it - you lose. A banged up Ben is not getting it done.

I'd say Alex Smith and the 49ers as a 13-3 two seed kind of shoots that theory all to hell. And we all know about Flacco.
