....we lost.
A severe hig-ankle sprain like that can take 6 <-> 8 weeks to heal.
Browns (Dec.08 MRI revealed high-ankle sprain after game)

49'ers
Browns
Broncos
The above games are the ones, Ben should NOT have played in.

I said it before, a 100% healthy batch would have been better than a 50% crippled Ben.
We had NO reason to play Ben from Dec.08 onward.
Ben is a scrambler, His obvious lack of mobility affected the entire team.
This was a stoopid coaching decision, and therefore, Tomlin is solely to blame for this early end-of-season.
- Ben was sacked 5 times in that Broncos game BECAUSE he was a horse with a "lame" leg. His throws, at the crucial times, were turnovers instead. !
TeBow's passer rating was twice as good as Ben's in that ganme. TEBOW !!!??? for gawd sakes.
In other words, a 100% healthy "Saint" Tebow, did unfortunately prove to be a better QB than a "crippled" Ben.

Ben didn't help LOSE that game, inas much as Tomlin did.
It's not just the point that Batch would have helped win the Broncos game, it's the fact that Ben should not have even played, until he was 100% Healthy -like the old Ben.
We also had several other key players with a plethora of injuries.

Ben should have been slowly working-out, getting healthy (since Dec.08) treating his Injury properly, and he may have been 100% ready by now, but we'll never know.

So, Mike, and Ariens, this is ALL on your shoulders. You reap what you sow.

What's your excuse for the remainder of Ben's dozen or so interceptions? His fumbles?

You can make excuses until the cows come home, but the simple fact is Ben frequently makes really poor decisions with the football. After 8 years one would think that he would stop forcing the ball into coverage, but he hasn't.

Cya

Ben has been piling up sacks year in and year out, both when he was healthy and when he was injured. He's a scrambler with the good and the bad associated with it.

His last injury is not the reason for his mediocre production. There's more to it. He wasn't injured until the 1st game against Cleveland, yet, he was far from being stellar before it.

allright, I mean even a 100% Manning makes mistakes too, albeit, not as many, but Ben's sbilty to be able to move around, has helped us, "over the years", to say the least.
Ben's injury, kept our Offense doggedly trying to save Ben's ass -instead of trying to score points, Ben's injury kept our defense constantly on the field, also compunding those issues.
... It all adds up against the entire team.
the only "excuse" i'm givin' is a healthy old Ben, was a lot better than a crippled old man Ben. If that's what you call an "excuse" ?, then so be it.
