Nick Toon was a stretch for round 3... he's in the second round and Audie Cole and Russell Wilson have jumped up to rounds 2 and 3 as well...

I like the Poe pick, but I think we can get him in the 2nd his stock is dropping a little bit just because every other prospects stock is rising. In the first I think we can get a guy like M. Adams, C. Glenn, or J. Martin. But good 1st Rd pick. B. Washington is a good OL and can compete immediately. Not sure they will even think about drafting a WR this season, but if there is a WR at BPA they wont hesitate, but i think they will attack LB in the 3rd cause we are so old at that position and the young guys we have (Worilds, Sylvester, and Carter) are still not seen as sure starters of the future. Audie Cole is a beast at ILB and if the Steelers go with a different position in the third and can snag him in the 4th, he might be the best pick in this draft for us. He is quick, strong, smart, and a sure tackler. They are definitely not looking at RB's with Mendenhall on schedule to make it back before mid-season and how well Redman played they are content at RB, plus they will sign M. Moore and they have B. Batch who proved in training camp that he can carry the ball. Many people think that we need to draft our QB of the future, but many people dont realize that if we can build an good OL than we dont have to think about that for about 3 or 4 more years, I really think that they will keep Dixon and Leftwich and just let C. Batch retire a Steeler. But Russell Wilson is a great athlete and under appreciated QB, he has a great arm, accuracy, and can read defenses, he also can run when things get ugly. They definitely will not waste a draft pick on a K, the last time they used a draft pick on a specialist (D. Sepulveda) that player has been hurt more than healthy. But really great draft man, just need some tweaking, but it is also good because it looks like you are thinking like Colbert

I like Marvin McNutt somewhere in the Steelers draft. He's got size, he's not afraid to go over the middle, he catches passes that are nearly uncatchable, and he's a good route runner who isn't afraid to lay the wood and block people (sound familiar to someone?).

We are not going to draft a WR, they have 3 core guys and Cotchery is willing to come back to be the 4th WR

We'll draft one in the later rounds. Ward will be on his way out, and we'll bring in a new fifth man.

I dont think they should draft a WR at all because of the Core 4 (Wallace, Brown, Sanders, and Cotchery) and they still have Tyler Gresham whom they like a lot who has been on the PS for awhile. But I think Ward will be back next season just because if Rooney wants to go back to running the ball, why not have the best run blocking WR in the history to help out

I wrote this mock before it was reported he would train for the Olympics...

They have the 4 correct but Tyler Gresham signed with the Denver Broncos. Ward might be out and Cotchery definitely won't be back. If there is quality later in the draft they will take someone. Remember Antonio Brown was a 6th rounder they weren't even going to take, but he was rated too highly to pass up.

poe would be a good pick to solidify the DL for the next 5-6 years

i do have a feeling though that the FO might be going OL this draft. rooney seems determined to see ben get sacked less. they might adopt an offense first philosophy because the defense is getting an overhaul

Actually, no you didn't because you posted it the same day I posted my mock.... And who said Cotch won't be back? He's not used to winning and we won a lot this year! Just not as far as we'd liked...

Hahaha, alright fair enough. Anyways the Steelers signed Cotchery to a one year league minimum deal. He deserves more than that and the best spot he could get here would be 4th on the depth chart. I have a feeling he is going to move on. But you're right he could still stay.
