Vick Ballard, RB, Mississippi State

Ballard racked up 1,189 yards on the ground while averaging more than six yards a pop. The 5'11", 220-pound back is extremely powerful and is at his best when the stakes are the highest.

He averaged 12.9 yards per carry en route to 180 yards in a Music City Bowl win against Wake Forest.

The irrelevancy that comes with playing for Mississippi State is the main thing holding Ballard back.

Any speed numbers on him? Would like to see someone with break away speed as a change of pace.

Stats are there. If you're talking speed you'll have to wait til combine! :hatsoff:

I definitely agree that V. Ballard can be a sleeper, but him going to us is highly unlikely. RB is not a position of need. If Mendenhall is not good to go by the opener than we will stick with Redman and we will most likely sign Moore again. Also Big John Clay showed his worth in the three games that he played this year. And if we dont want Clay than we have Dwyer and if we don't want Dwyer we still have Baron Batch who out of training camp last year looked to be the 3rdDown RB.

Not a bad pick though and I do believe he will be a sleeper for another team
