With Ed Reed raising the salary bar with his new deal. Will the Steelers pony up and pay Troy what he is worth? Or might he be gone in two more years?

we already discussed this, but I do not believe troy is in it for the money really. he doesn't seem like a guy who would hold out for more money....someone said on here that he drives a kia. come on..

What Steeler has ever been the highest paid at their position?? There is always another team that raises the bar at selective postions but it's always the other teams.

They'll offer Troy "Top 3" money. And he'll take it.

Sorry, help me find the thread so I can see some more comments.

As far as holding out... did you think Hines would have held out for more Jack?

I would like to think that Troy knows a good thing when he sees it. It makes sense to stay with a winner, you will have enough money either way. But a chance at rings is priceless. BUT you never know! Agents suck

Polomalu is a very humble and religious (Christian) man. He's not out there to show off and get big money. On this board I've read an article of him bein in constant prayer durin the entire game he plays. A man like this isn't goin to uproot his family (even if he only has a wife) and move to another city to get more money at another team. I have faith in him to stay humble and stay wit the Steelers.

If Troy improves again this year, the team will make him one of the top 3 paid safeties in the NFL, next offseason.

Troy's not going anywhere,..his honor is very important to him. Maybe even more so as opposed to Bussy's. Remeber Bettis could have left us for more cake ($) in his prime,...but he stayed. He even took paycuts to stay when he wasn't the same player he used to be,..and Troy seems to be the same way. Make no mistake,..he will be payed very well and he knows as much. But i don't think his character will allow him to to go the way of Greed. Remember him showing up and working out his rookie season without even having a deal done ? And he was the best at his position in that Draft.

sounds like randle el. and el wasnt even one of the best at his position. while i think the steelers give troy and ben the same priority that the pats have given seymour and tom, lets not confuse religion and business. his faith will not let troy be low balled or stepped on.

the salary cap is going up. the steelers will be able to sign these players. deals being done today are paving the way to insure it.

Exactly, don`t dare be fooled with loyalty nowadays. troy is such a great person it seems, that he may take the money to be closer to his family. Since he doesnt say much in the media, he is kinda hard to figure out!

Exactly! I love Troy just like all us Loyal Black N Gold Bleeders, But believe me Money Talks and Bullshit Walks when the average career is if your VERY LUCKY 10 years. I hope his value's hold fast but one can never tell when Mr Benjamin is slapping you in the face

I agree.

Troy is a very religious man and a teamer, but when all is said and done, he almost assuredly wants to do what is best for he and his wife (and future little Taz's). I do believe that the Steelers will do whatever it takes to keep him in the long run. Just a gut.

Yes,.. money is very important as it is a form of Power to effect change. I'm not saying Troy's going to take "The home town discount" offer. And i don't think the organiztion would be foolish enough to try and "Low Ball" a player like him. What i'm sayin is,...they will find a mutal aggreement that's benificial for ALL parties involved. Sounds crazy to some,...but there MUST be Heroes, Villans and Fencesetters, this is balance. Everyone has a part to play,....and it's just my opinion, but Troy seems to fit the first catagory. Why ?,.....well,.. we'll just all watch and see for ourselves.

I believe that Troy will stay with the Steelers. He's a very-intelligent man who will make more from his sound investments than the Steelers, or anyone else for that matter, could ever pay him.

Awww, that's so COOL. Yet another reason for me to think of him as another one of my favorite Steelers. He sure is one heck of a player. I think the Lord blesses him everytime he goes out on the field. Whatta guy.
