the innaugural AFC Championship BUTT Bowl- "Purple vs. Pink"

the only trully great thing about todays game is we get to relish in the complete misery of atleast one of the fanbases. What makes it greater is the teams fanbases (and the teams) are convinced they have already won the lombardi.

the sour pu$$ look on either lewis/suggs/harbaugh or brady/belichick is going to be PRICELESS!

guranteed!

Is Terrell Suggs not the ugliest person you've ever seen? I cant stand how they show him on tv all the time...As much as I regret it I'm a...gulp...pats fan today because I DO NOT want to see the dirty lowlife ratbirds in the super bowl.

just remember, the steelers are like the big brother who porks the prom queen, and head cheerleaders, in this little football rilvary, so if you come around bragging about popping your cherry with the 9th grade science fair winner, dont expect nothing more than to be laughed at and scoffed.

the steelers are bigger, badder, meaner, and better than the ravens. always have been. always will be. not even the leagues perpetual rules against their toughness can hold them down for long.

just take your place in line as second fidde.

always being better than the browns and bungles isnt neccessarilly a bad thing, is it?

Too bad they both can't lose. Really my most hated two teams fighting for the conference. Only thing that would be worst would be if the Cowboys were in the NFC final two. I'll give either team their due when they win today or if they win the SB but anyone who thinks the Steelers aren't gonna be a factor in the AFC next year is kidding themselves. They said it after 2006, 2009 when we had disappointing years and what do you know.

Although I am not rooting for anybody, my preference is for the Ravens and 49ers to meet in the Super Bowl, just to watch Roger Goodell squirm in his seat. Despite all of his idiotic tinkering, he just couldn't get Tom Brady to meet Aaron Rodgers in the Big Game.

http://sarahsprague.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/roger-goodell1.jpg

Back to the ol' drawing board.

P.S. - That, and Tom Brady's association with Ugg boots has pushed me beyond my limit with the Patr*ots.

Ha yeah two run first teams in Goodell's pass first league in the SB. I think it's gonna be Giants-Patriots but could go anyway since the Ravens have shown they can win at Foxboro in the playoffs and certainly do have the D to disrupt Brady. I was hoping the Texans would make it somehow honestly. Yates wasn't terrible but he was still a rookie QB pressed into a tough situation.

like you were last year? Give me a break, we have both a much more successful and storied franchise than the team you root for.

On another not....i will say I AM rooting for the Ravens to win today.

C'mon Steelers fans.....own up and pull for the Ravens. You really don't want the Pats/Brady/Belichik to add ANOTHER trophy to their case, do you?? Really?

I guess that's what is leaning me the Ravens way. Plus their fans are slightly less annoying than Patriots fans and it would be funny to see a Baltimore team ruin a Boston team's hopes twice in the same season but then again I am the rare Orioles/Steeler fan.

most raven fans are scum. if they advance, it wouldnt bug me the least if they had to do it with their rookie qb.

the ravens were starting to kill the patriots with the run game on that drive. they coulda ran 15 straight times and there was nothing they could do to stop them. run the ball, score some poinst, and limit tom brady's time on the field.

steelerchad
01-22-2012, 04:58 PM
Boy did Harbaugh f*** that one up. Let the clock run down, then blow a timeout, then come up with nothing and Flacco throws it up for grabs on 4th and 6. No confidence in the kicker I guess, but blowing the timeout plus the entire 40 seconds on the play and game clock looms large right now. 2 first downs and this is over. The Ravens have only been able to force a punt once today.

There was one Baltimore drive (that failed....a 3 and out) early in the game. Immediate punt.
1st down was a run that got stuffed behind the line (they were clearly expecting it).
2nd down was a bomb downfield that was overthrown. Incomplete.
3rd down Flacco took a sack.

Oh I know how he missed it. Was just going stream of consciousness with my thoughts when I saw it. Just amazing. It was funny. My brother was a little upset since he wanted the Ravens to win a little bit more than the Pats. Had to remind him- remember we still despise the Ravens too and then he started joining me in laughng.

Bitching about no review of the Evans play in the end zone - stay classy John

Final two minutes it should have been. But w/e, we lost fair and square, go 9ers! Meanwhile you all are so butthurt it is making me feel better, so keep it up. :applaudit:

What happened to the smack-talking Ravens fan? Talked. alot of $hit, that's for sure.

Yea I'm still here, had to drive home, happy to join you on the losers couch. At least it wasn't Tebow on the other side of the field. I just feel bad for Ray, mostly

Interested in your take. Was Flacco's better performance this week due to a worse defense than last week or did he actually seem more comfortable back there? I know he outplayed Brady, but he definitely didn't last week in Houston where he looked fairly rattled for most of the game.

He made some really tight throws, I didn't think the NE coverage was bad. But, #31 vs top ten definitely had a hand in making him look better. Either way he earned a deal today outplaying Brady. Evans on the other hand is either getting a paycut or just plain cut. Can't relax like that halfway through a catch with a sb on the line.

I actually think Flacco is progressing somewhat. I won't call him a top QB but he's all right. The real key though for the Ravens will be extending Rice. The guy if you ask me is the most talented piece on that offense and its key.

Takes a real fanatic to call him 'top'. I would say he is 12-15 in the league. TE drops killing his numbers though. And Lee ****ing Evans. Damn. . .

I'd agree with that assessment. He's 10-15 IMO. He was good against a bad D today. He was bad against a good D last week. For most of this season, he's been up and down, but mostly a little better than average.

I... am...but would prefer to reserve judgment until I see him with a new OC. No way do we resign cc now that his contract is up. Maybe we can getBA out of retirement :flap:

Top 12-15 sounds right to me. He's not a bad QB and I did think he improved this year in his clutchness i.e. the drive against the Steelers (pains me to say that but I try to be fair) and that was a good 2 minute drill he had tonight too but Evans and Cundiff hurt the team. I do feel Rice is the Ravens key on offense. I'm amazed he fell to the second round. Rather would have him than Mendenhall objectively speaking.

I don't think I'll be able to post anything that doesn't end with Lee ****ing Evans until we are back in the thick of next season. FWIW I would take any of your receiving core over Lee ****ing Evans who didn't do a damn thing all season but eat cap and drop balls. If that is Mike Wallace the Ravens are going to Indy.

Just hope we can repeat and give Ray one more chance.

Think that is it for me ya'll, but if you want to stir the pot in the offseason just bash the Ravens. I'll be around :flap:

lol glad you think so highly of your team. Somebody has to.

Yeah, unlike fair-weather Baltimoron fans, we stick by our team and don't throw them under the bus because we're butt-hurt about a loss.

It's either that, or your fans and your whiny bitchass coach making up any excuse in the book for why they lost except for taking it like men and admitting a better team beat them or that they just didn't play well enough to get the job done.

Suck it up, buttercup. More failure is bound to be headed your way next season.

Yeesh! You'd think they would be used to it by now and have gotten a support group or something together to hug each other through it. :chuckle:

I think Smith was a good pick for you all. Anyhow, I am not gonna rag on the Ravens for long especially if the NFC beats the Pats in two weeks. You have a right to be disappointed. I think you all will be back in the thick of things next year though. Don't iike your team obviously but they're still good even if Lewis and Reed retire.

Great Baltimore pun, hope you weren't up all night thinking it up . . . Maybe we can take a page from the Steelers this season about failure and how to take a loss. Seriously, we are both out for the season, you really have no room to talk here. Also, Baltimore has a downright die hard fan base. So once again you can't come up with anything but hot air.

a. boldin sucks.

tj houshmanxaghdouchmah\1 sucks

derick mason sucks

every wr you guys have ever drafted sucks.

but evans especially sucks after one of the biggest choke drops in championship game history.

he is the anti-santonio holmes (sb mvp and raven killah).

Boldin doesn't suck, Mason was good for us for a long time, Torrey Smith doesn't suck, he is going to develop into a great receiver. Lee Evans was def a bad pick up, no argument there. Every WR ever? lol. Seriously tony, you are the biggest troll on this board. Do you ever say things you think are actually accurate, or are you just always trying to get a rise out of someone?

if torrey smith is gonna be a "great" receiver, then all the others youve ever had or drafted suck.

atleast quadry ismael was good enough for 1 year to squeak out 1000 yds.

lol, you sure are trying. Torrey is in his first year, he will take a step back next year, and I am predicting that in his third or fourth season yea, he will be great receiver. As in, top 10 in the league for yards and TDs. That is a prediction, based on what I've seen watching him every game all season.

draftwise he was pretty much this years "mike wallace" so it could happen.

its cool, bro. lee evans drop is one of the most sickening feelings for a fan imaginable (buckner on the red sox comes to mind) and i have met a ton of ravenfans i would wish that pain upon rather than yourself.
