Is the NHL finished ? I know you probably don``t care right now, but I was wondering how could they possibly continue on after a canceled season? I`m afraid the Pens will be history.

If they wait any longer then the will not only be competing with the other major sports, but another olympics rolling around. I would love to see contraction cause talent is watered down. Worse than MLB. I say that the fifth starter on MLB teams are usually pretty weak across the board, but have you seen some of these 2nd lines? Granted the Pens 1st line isn't keeping people up late. I would hate to see hockey leave Pittsburgh, but know there are better pure hockey towns if the league needs to survive.

The nba is worse yeah, the money thats thrown around that league, when you consider the fact its not all that popular sport in most of the cities it plays in, w/ the exception of your marquee cities.. its digusting the way contracts are written up.

Yeah they whine alot, but they market themselves pretty good, so therefore they are still in business..for now

I think it is sad that they are not even trying to keep people interested by publicly meeting. Even if behind close doors they still flip each other off, if it were my business I would be trying to keep my name out there. They just seem to be waiting for the other side to back down.

:dollar: IDEA! - Now would be the time for a Trump, Branson, Cuban, McMahon type guy to start a small league with all the proposed NHL rule changes(ie. different lines, larger nets, smaller pads. Get enough players to skate up and I think it could work cause you aren't trying to make it edgier than the actual game(XFL/NFL) you are just trying something different. Its not gimmicky either like starting a basketball league with x-tra point zones worth 5-10 points and such, so traditionalists could be intersted? Heck if you got some more ideas post them up here. I'm sure Mike has some contacts higher up...

NHL is back! Yawn! Big deal. I was such a fan, but after this non-season, Im not sure if it will ever be the same. I am curious to see if Mario can save the Penguins ar he will sell, and they will move. Probably the latter.
