Anybody watching the jets in training over the skies of Pittsburgh today? Things are damn loud. There are two of them over my house as we speak chasing each while doing nose dives. They appear to be F-15E's.

The finest and most lethal air force on the planet in action. Very cool. :usa:

The finest and most lethal air force on the planet in action. Very cool. :usa:the f-15e's used to be stationned here at holloman. they moved them out, when they brought in the f-117's stealth fighters. to no suprise they are much more quiet. its really cool to watch them though. you can drive right underneath the flighline path and they will fly about 50 feet overhead as they come in to land. awesome! in a few years they are retiring the stealth and bringing in the f-22 raptors. that will be killer! the loudest ones out here are the german tornados, and by far the f-4 unmanned drones. my office was so close to the flightline, when they would come in a little low they would crack the windows. i watched one crash about 1000 feet away and the fuel pod explode. one of the most intense things ive ever seen. good thing it was computer controlled and no one was on board.

jet noise trully is the sound of freedom.

funny story about an f-15 pilot who was discharged. he had some buddies camping at a lake about 150 miles away. he had a training mission in the area. he told them to watch out for him at a certain time and hed buzz them. he came in so low he hit some telephone wires and did some damage to his jet. oops. the military was not pleased.

I believe this might answer your question.....

Blue Angels practice runs delay commercial flights, disrupt traffic

The way the jets were going at it and for such a long period of time, I thought the situation with North Korea escalated and I was missing something.

last year our airshow was the best ever. for the 1st time they did cannon runs with the a-10's and mock bomb runs with the stealth fighters. you could feel the explosions in your chest. they also had a stealth bomber do a flyby at 750 feet. amazing! and of course, the thunderbirds did all their stunts.

Around here Fort Indiantown Gap is less than 20 miles away so we get a lot of Helicopter training. I've seen twin Apache Helicopters flyin overhead only a few hundred feet up from my house. We Also see Chinook (Sp?) (The twin rotor big birds) Helicopters flyin over us. They usually pass over in pairs and when you are inside the house the vibration of the rotors against the air shakes our windows hard. One time 6 Apaches passed over at once and I thought the whole house was goin to shake to bits!!
