You only get that for a loss to FA. Football 101 :chuckle:

of course those picks are only slightly better than undrafted free agents , but its nice to get first dibs on em. hopefully they'll use em to bring in some competition at kicker and punter.

It's always good to have more draft picks no matter it's first round or seventh round. Hopefully the Steelers can find gold like Keisel again.

Competition at K would be good...or just draft a new one all together and cut Suisham. I watched the Senior Bowl yesterday and the Shine Game last week and there are some good ones. The kid from A&M would be an upgrade...even the kid from Purdue.

A punter would be nice too, preferably one who doesn't tear their ACL by farting.

I actually think Kapinos has been very good during the 2 seasons he's filled in for Sep. I'd keep him and let Sep go at this point.

aren't 7th rounders basically UDFA's? :P

2 7th Rounders go a long way though, every team in the league has 7th RD gems and adding 2 more picks in the 7th for us just increases our chances on getting one more gem. I would definitely like to see them still use those picks for depth and not trying to get a kicker or punter. there are going to be plenty of undrafted rookie FA K and P. We can just invite those kids to camp and let them show up Suisham.

We have a pro bowl caliber 7th rounder on the team right now in David Johnson! Maybe we can get another one like him. (Sarcasm)
But seriously, you can get some talent out of 7th rounders, and as I see it, the more opportunities we get, the better our chances are.

7th rounders can also be used to trade up in the mid rounds

Kapinos has been fine for the price and I don't think he has to make many tackles when he kicks so he will be injured less.

Suishams kickoffs havent been bad thanks to Goodells and the Flag Football League rules. But there is no lenght to him on FG's and no confidence in him on the big kick. Need someone like Akers but not at 3mill.
