Saw a little tidbit on Twitter saying that Colts will hire Keith Butler as Colts new DC. So now, it looks like we have Pittsburgh West and the Indianapolis Steelers being put in place, following the Arians hire.

If this is true, I will be the first to say I'm NOT happy. I made a post a couple days ago talking about the defense not dropping off from LeBeau's 3-4 defense since Keith Butler is likely to be the stand-in position of our next D-coordinator. Looks like he was not looking forward to waiting around. Strange since he turned down the job from Whiz knowing he was next in line.

Looks like our LB coach and DC in waiting is heading to indy too. It is being reported by Adam Shefter.

Pitts Post is saying tis not a done deal...Butler is interviewing Tuesday

I don't know...As much as I love DL, it might be time to nudge him into retirement. Is it worth losing our future OC in waiting? It would be nice to plug in Butler without losing a step. Sometimes you have to make a business decision.

Bouchette is saying its not a done deal...he has to interview Tuesday.

Even if he does leave Jerry Olsavsky is the assistant...he played at Pitt and was drafted by the Steelers. He would be a good replacement for Butler.

That would be too bad if he leaves but I am sure they will find a decent replacement for him if need be.

I don't blame him if he does. By the time he "waits" for LeBeau to retire, he'll be sixty +

I don't blame him. If it was my call I would of had DL retire and made Butler our DC right now so I wouldn't lose him. DL is going to be gone very soon and now we dont have a replacement

im not too worried. the colts are the new rams now, and just like steve spagnolo, this current coaching staff theyre assembling will be fired in 3 years (maybe even sooner for arians).

Everything will be fine...I hope DL stays for another 5 years...Good luck to Butler elsewhere.

Get Farrior to retire and become new linebackers coach

I'm not too worried about it to be quite honest. It's looking like he's interviewing, and that he hasn't even left.

So why would the Colts hire a 3-4 guy when they have Mathis and Freeney? I wouldn't make two of the best 4-3 pass rushers in this league convert to a standing linebacker this late in their career.

That is not the best option. I wouldn't mind to see him as an assistant but we have a great assistant right now in Jerry Olsavsky. If Butler leaves then I figure he will be promoted and given a couple more years to groom under LeBeau.

Its not like Keith was a huge draw and people were fighting over him in 2003. When he was let go from Cleveland we seen something in him and decided to let our DC groom him and now this is the result.

The same will happen with Jerry O. He knows the team, the scheme and played under LeBeau at one point. DL will groom him and he will become touted just as Butler did.

Colts new HC ran the 3-4 as DC in Baltimore

And I think Freeney is a FA

Blowing it up in Indy

Mathis is the FA. Freeney is under contract through this upcoming year.

Shouldn't the H.C Pags, be picking the coordinators. WOW , i guess it is true. Jim IRSAY really does want to be like Jerry Jones and have full control and be in the limelight.

He is turning into a real Joke.

Jim Irsay has become the new insane owner of the NFL now that Al Davis has passed away.

Good point above about the coaching staff of the Colts being fired in 3 years we can then take our pick between Pagano or Butler at that point.
