Who's the best in the game today?

Tomlinson? Holmes? Bettis? Edgerrin James? someone else?

I`m thinking Tomlinson, but I would be tempted to take Holmes in a fantasy league.

LT for sure

LT is just about liked by all.

We have the best running team. Just a stable of backs to split time though

Yeah, as a group, our Steelers have one of the best Stables of running backs in the league, bar none.. no matter who carries the ball for us, we'll be productive. Which, IMO, its better to have several very good back, than 1 excellent back and no one behind him.

Hate to jump on the wagon, but LT is the best rb in the game today, he just doesnt have talent he has heart. stuck with a team that was losing every game, and said in many press conf, iam not a quiter and wont leave a team that brought me in to this league.

i may be a littls biased....but i would have to say ahman green....he can catch the football....has the speed........breaks tackles, he has it all...then again ...this is a homer pick cause he was a husker!!! :D

LT is one of the very few RB's that can run a good post pattern...he got the hands to catch too

Green Has to stop fumbling the ball , before ill put him in the top 5 RB of today.

By the way welcome Tha rock, but back to the issue...are you saying Jordan is your #1 back or the league's?

BlitzburghRockCity
06-08-2005, 11:31 PM
I think he's talking about in the league, since thats what this thread is about.. although I'd highly beg to differ on calling Jordan one of the best in the league...

ironcitychef
06-08-2005, 11:35 PM
yeah me too BRC but just wanted to clarify before asking for a reason. Not that Jordan can't be the #1, we just like to know why.:D

BlitzburghRockCity

Jordan has a real chance to strut his stuff and see if all those years behind martin we're beneficial enough for to be the main guy.

I hope that #34 will come out of him and he could be like BO.

I wouldn't say Lamont Jordon is the best in the league when he has spent his entire career as a backup.Let him play an entire season as the man carrying the load and see how he does.

The guy is capble of bieng the evry down game im sure just watch how intense his style is but only the season will tell.

Nicest thing is Moss might make him a better back than he could be on his own?

Where did you get M.J were talking about lamont jordan the next great RB on the raiders since marcus allen and bo jackson.

Mike was the only Jordan I can think of worth anything. The Bus is better than Lamont and he is 34.

Your kidding me right jordan is just waiting for his chance I agree jerome is good but in time lamont will be better.

clevestinks
06-10-2005, 07:57 PM
Be better than the number four rusher of all time?? No friggin way. I think the Raiders have a RB curse after Al Davis screwed Marcus Allen over.

BlitzburghRockCity
06-10-2005, 10:58 PM
Ouch, now that's a pretty bold statement there bro.. Jordan has already missed to many years sitting behind martin to every dream of getting close to Jerome's caliber.

clevestinks
06-11-2005, 12:33 PM
Not even close. We have two backs higher than him on the all time list. The Bus and Duce.

All I have to say is his seasons with the raiders will only tell, a curse on raider Rbs no way dont forget BO and Nopleon kaufman.

Like I said " it a curse" Bo was a fav of mine at the time, how couldn`t you like that guy. But look how long his NFL career lasted. And Kaufmann had the goods but really never did deliver totally.

That just gos to show you that they rose from the curse and so will lamont.

Tomlinson hands down.....He puts up big numbers on, in my opinion, a mediocre team. Over a 100 receptions in a season for a RB besides over 1,000 yds is sick. Faulk is no longer in his prime, Ricky is too busy gettin high and I think Priest is just about done in KC.. Larry Johnson should take over in my opinion.

Just to restate what many others said...Tomlinson is, overall, the best RB in the league right now. Amazing in the running game. A huge threat in the passing game. Can't say how well he blocks because I haven't watched too many Bolts' games. But the guy is amazing. A threat to run for over 100 yards and 75-100 yards receiving each game.

At the same time, until the last year or so, he's had to be the entire offense. I'm exaggerating some but before Gates and possibly Parker or McCardell, it was LT and only LT. I wonder if that ended up making him a better RB? Meaning him having to bear the entire burden (more or less) of the offense made him a more complete and more effective RB? Interesting.

Tomlinson sucks just like his gay ass team they will not have another year like that.

BlitzburghRockCity
06-13-2005, 04:32 PM
No matter how good a player is, he's always a notch lower in your own mind becuz you hate the team. ;)

Tha rock
06-13-2005, 08:02 PM
Yeah just like that I hate the damn chargers thats like a steeler fan saying that ray lewis and ed reed are the best defensive players right now you hate the team so your going to find a loophole.

BlitzburghRockCity
06-13-2005, 08:35 PM
Anybody that tells me Gay Ray is the best LB in the league.. oh yeah, there's gonna be some words for sure!!! I dont care how good he is or was.. he aint that good period, no matter who the hell he plays for!!!
