man, he's a LAZY f**k with a seemingly poor attitude and somewhat unstable altogether. I see the chances of us going after him at about 0.0000001 %

He's also showing signs of physically breaking down already. Pass.

Maybe he was just tired of losing with the stains. That's gotta take a lot out of you. He does look like a Steelers type player to me though.

We have enough turnover problems.. We don't need a fumbler.

if they could have gotten him at a reasonable price, the Browns would have signed him to a deal last year.

I'm actually excited to see what we will get out of our guys on the roster, Jonathan Dwyer has shown flashes, can pound it but also go the distance as he did against the Titans last season. Him and Redman with a splash of Batch could be lethal.

Nah, I think being on the cover of Madden went to his head. He obviously doesn't realize that an underground network had him voted in and he actually wasn't the fan favorite, but he was the end result of a practical joke against the company Electronic Arts.

I'd love to see him in a Steeler uniform. He was good with the Browns, he'll be a beast on a good team with some other form of offense.

Thats what they said about Bettis when he was with the rams. We all know how that worked out.

I think his attitude last year kind of messed his image/stock up. Hopefully it was just because he wants out of the afc North laughing stock.... and not because fame got to his head.

Either way, he'll probably want too much dough and I'm happy with the bruiser we have in Isaac Redman.

Exactly what I was thinking when I read that too.

If the Steelers bring any new back in, it probably will be a speed guy like Isaiah Pead 4.40 40 time to help create big explosive plays out of the backfield in the pass and run.

Hillis who only is a 4 year vet seems to have lost his passion for the game as he already is talking about retirement so he can join the CIA. Yep that's right the CIA. If your thinking about being gone from the NFL then you already are. That's not to say he is a fool and will turn down millions of dollars but he probably will be there to collect a check and just go through the motions. After the year he had last year he might still be available deep into training camps though and be had for the vet minimum. He blew it when he turned down the Browns offers early.

Not at all, I don't think we need his complaining or anything coming from him that may cause disturbance in the locker room.

Pretty sure the browns said that it was a top priority on re-signing him

Didnt he sign a new deal with the Browns?

...only if Peyton agrees to be the QB-Coach of the Steelers' ( god knows, Ben sure needs one ! )
Other than that ? -NAaa, I don't want him.

Not even an option, he's not committed enough to play with the Steelers. It would be better to draft a RB in the 3rd or 4th round that has potential and just go with the backs we currently have.

Let's get back to utilizing a running back before we sign free agents.

I haven't heard to many good things about Hilis and I think we have talent in Pitt.

Already have that type of back in Redman. Clay is huge as well. We need speed in our backfield.

Brandon Jacobs was just released, so that would be a cheaper option for a bruiser-type back.

we already have a couple options with batch and spann for the 3rd down back role. i would give them a shot

If we want somebody from FA, I'd much rather go after Brandon Jacobs. He's at least somewhat of a proven commodity, would probably come cheap, and I personally would rather give him a starting role than Redman.

Don't need a FA back or anymore RB's for that matter, and Peyton Hillis would be the last one to look for.

Pittsburgh does not go after problematic players...never have and likely never will...and this guy has been a big problem over there and a locker room "drain" as well. Enough for even teammates to make not so nice remarks about him.
Its pretty comical as every time a player with issues, ego, and attitude hits the market, there's almost an immediate post in Steeler forums to that "we might have to sign that guy".

i wouldn't want jacobs either. nothing worse than a big back that doesn't run big
