5 mil of that will go to draft picks and the Steelers will be set for the 2012 season.

ESPN just posted $4.5 million earlier so who knows. It seems people are just taking guesses half the time.

hopefully jonathan scott gets cut, he isn't worth the 2 million he's getting paid

I completely agree. Why not cut him and then resign Trai Essex. He is obviously better than scott and can play every position on the line. Maybe they are going to wait until after the draft. But if it were me he'd be gone.

Its probably close to that with Hamptons number. I thought it was about 1.5mill lower. But its in the range.

They have some flexibility with a couple other restructures if they need it.

As far as cutting people. There are certain times/dates when they can cut someone or redo deals. The timelines give them more wiggle room. There was a link about this in regard to the Steelers but I have yet to find it. But they have pretty much stayed around those timelines with each cut they have done.

Wasn't it 12.5 million a week ago? This is retarded.

I have 7.5 under with approximately 5 players still needed: this includes rollover from 2011 (.5), credits likely to be used (1.5), RFA/EFA tenders, and draft picks (4.5). This cap number being relevant to the final 53.

Steelers Depot #'s include 1.6 additional cap dollars from Cowboys/Redskins, which I believe per PFT is already factored into the cap base of 120.6. In addition, his number uses the current highest 51 salaries.

a) people who thought the final cap # would be 125 mil/year.
b) before the steelers gave the 5 or so players their tender offers..
