Anyone know the real story on why the Steelers let him go. This guy was a force DE in our 3-4. What I kept hearing is the Steelers were sick of his locker room lawyer antics.
What was the deal? He was one of my favorites.

He did not like playing in the 3-4 defense, thought of himself more as an up the field playmaker, played out his contract, signed with teh Carolina Panthers for the duration of his career.

I thought he went to Cincy (who was running the 3-4) first then SF then Carolina.

He was known for bragging about the money he'd make in future contracts in the locker room and really came over as an arrogant prick. I believe he was traded away in the off-season of '94 or '95.
he got his wittle feelings hurt and went crying home to his mommy

The Pittsburgh Steelers traded defensive lineman BRENTSON BUCKNER to Kansas City on Friday in exchange for a seventh-round draft choice this year. The 6-foot-2-inch, 310-pound Buckner, 25, had his best season in 1995, when he started 11 games at end and five at nose tackle.
