Fresh story. Nice to see Macon, GA with an eye on the Black n' Gold.

"...you have to dress for the job you want, not the one you have,"

Was anyone else as surprised as me that Verron was on stage at the ESPYs? And I didn't realize that he and Ben were that tight. If he can go from his No. 2 slot to become a "one-two" punch (ala Thunder and Lightning) with Fast Willie, then it will temper the feelings when we see White starting for the Titans this season.

As of right now i would rather have taken white.....
It might have been a mistake for us to take Holmes.....
He isnt proving me wrong so far off the field.....I hope he can on the field...

Well Willie Parker is the starter. Its nice that Verron wants to start. But Verron also has had the history of nagging injuries and never has had to carry much of the load at RB. So I still would have doubts about Verron Haynes being the fulltime starter. He is a good back that fits his role well. I also would like to see him get more carries and he will this season.

About LenDale White, get over it he is a Titan. Quit crying about the Steelers passing on him. There is a RB from Louisville in next years draft that will be just as good or better then LenDale White. I say the Steelers should do what they have to do to get Michael Bush.

Good for Veron... I was suprised when they re-signed him, but I've always thought he was a good natural runner.

Without a doubt there are doubts but the extra work he talks about may be getting his body 'primed' earlier.

As for White...as a big USC fan my campaign for him to be in Balck And Gold started last year at the ASU game as he bounced off great tacklers. A little harder for me to shake in light of Holmes but I'm over it.

Bush is smart for staying for one more year. Talk about being lost in all the Reggie Bush-stakes. I'd rather wait for Micheal Bush then go for Addai in the last draft. But add his receiving threat and he may again be too high on the board for the Steelers.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk regarding about the Steelers passing on LenDale White. But there is nothing that we can do about it really. So its pointless to keep bringing it up. I just focus on the players that we have. I wanted Santonio Holmes badly. I didn't see all this crap coming from Santonio though. But we can't change it so we have to hope Santonio grows up and starts acting like pro. Trust me I wouldn't have minded White at all. He was my second choice after Holmes.

About Bush next year. Who knows whats going to happen in the draft. But we have seen if the Steelers do like somebody alot that they will trade up to their man.

Good for Verron..I worry about any player who doesnt have the drive to want to be #1, ...even if he tries his best and doesnt get it..he has FORCED the others to strive for the same position...Thumbs up!!

We didn't forget about that cheap shot on Leinart. Oscar Lua has some payback.

You have to be happy White is gone. He absolutely owned you guys. Now at least you won't be 14 point dogs.

Anyway. I love the chicks at ASU. Fun school dude. Try to study if you can.

I feel the same way. I don't think he ever actually let us down when he was called up. We'll see.

I'm with you on the Michael Bush pick Fam,...he's got Steeler written all over him. (wait,..then again,...so did Lendale? LOL) As far as Verron,...he's not fast or athletic enough to start at tailback. Don't get me wrong,..he's got good vision and works hard. But he run's flat footed and is a lumbering type guy. I think after Danny leave's he (veron)
could be one of the best fullbacks in the league with a little more application.

Verron is our 3rd down go to guy and a back up Rb he role is well suited we shouldn't change a thing.

Yeah flat footed. YES. BUT there were a handful of plays last season where he shined. And two plays where it was jaw-dropping. It's not so much Verron being suddenly not flatfooted it's more about our OC.

The timing of Verron over the middle for 19 yards and a first down at the 3 yard line AND Kreider taking one for 7 and a first down is precious to only us.

Verron's not No. 1 and we all know it. What we know is that he can be more than a third down robot. He made few plays last year. But there were 2-3 plays which were f-ing critical. I think everyone saw it and that's why he's coming in thinking he's more important. And he is.

This goes back to Ken. He may (NO he is) be the greatest offensive coach in Steeler history. His timing is uncanny. You don't need T.O. when the Seattle defense is standing naked at mid-field. ARE should give him a cut of that new fat salary.

LeBeau is godly. Cowher has always been the ringmaster. But Art II is going to make Whiz our next HC. Taking bets.

I hear both sides of this but I bet if there was a way to check it no 3rd string RB had more yards in the 4th than Verron did last year, ( just a guess) that guy had some guts when the defense know we are going to run it and we still send Verron up the middle. I like the guy I think he could be much more than a 3rd down back. Only time will tell.

Dan is the main man of out running game hands down

well i mean do the steelers staff know somethin we dont? They signed a 7th rounder for a RB, and i think they understand some fans are confused (willie is great but we all know we need someone else with him), so they MUST have something they are thinking about, maybe they think verron is stepping up this year, one thing i hope they are right about is the idea that Staley will play well, and stay healthy. I dunno, the runningback position in pittsburgh is a bit mysterious at the moment.

But yea i love how ppl say Bush (louisville RB) is perfect for us, but so was lendale. However, lendale had some issues off the field, lack of work ethic too.,

ALSO HOLD OFF ON SANTONIO! HES A ROOKIE! GIVE HIM SOME TIME BEFORE YOU GIVE UP ON HIM GUYS!
