Possibly the coolest Curiosity instrument is the ChemCam, which uses a laser beam to shoot rocks (and maybe a Martian or two) in order to vaporize a small sample

the images are riveting (yes, i am following an inanimate object's tweets and status via social media) :doh:

the sad thing is if man were to be televised tomorrow live, landing on mars, opposite of a live justin beiber or lady gaga concert on the other station, we all know which channel would win the ratings. :screwy:

lol your probably right. I watched it last night on the NASA channel. Kinda cool seeing it all happen live.

True enough - but which channel would we be watching if the Mars landing was head to head with the last 2 minutes of a Steelers Super Bowl game with the Steelers down 2 with the ball inside the other team's 40? :noidea:
