How does Roddy White even know Todd Haley?

Roddy White from the Falcons? Wtf? How are we in the heads of the Falcons to the point that they are watching and worrying about our preseason games? We're not even in the same Conference. Doesn't really make sense...can't imagine what he's even thinking :noidea:

who is Roddy White?

He is a WR on a team that hasn't won a playoff game since 2004 and he was a proud member of the Atlanta offense that got shutout in last years playoff loss to the Giants.

Roddy White has some advice for Todd Haley
Posted by Mike Florio on August 20, 2012, 7:37 AM EDT

Cross Roddy White off the list of players who could be joining the Pittsburgh Steelers in the near future.

White, while watching Sunday night’s Colts-Steelers game on NBC, offered unsolicited criticism of and advice for Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley.

“Todd Haley problem is he really thinks that coaches win games not players when he realizes he doesn’t win games than he will be fine,” White said via Twitter.

White is accurate; only the players can deliver victory. But it’s the job of the coaches to get the players ready to play.

Maybe the deeper point is that, instead of forcing an offensive system onto a team regardless of personnel, the coach should find ways to maximize the talents of the players he has. That’s what Steelers coach Mike Tomlin did when he came to Pittsburgh, sticking with the 3-4 despite being an expert in the 4-3.

The fact, however, that Tomlin didn’t scuttle the zone-blitzing scheme in 2007 shows that the decision to go with a new offense came not from Haley but from whoever hired him. Haley was brought in to bring his offense, and that’s what he’s doing.

Maybe the deeper point is that White watched the stream of clips from last night’s broadcast showing Haley getting into verbal altercations with the likes of Terrell Owens, Anquan Boldin, and Matt Cassell, and White simply concluded that Haley seems like a not-so-nice guy.

And that leads back to the Sean Payton profile on Sunday’s Outside The Lines. Coaching football at the highest level either attracts or creates guys who, all things considered, can act like big jerks.

That’s not an affliction that can be cured simply by realizing that the players win the games. But that’s probably the thing that prompted White to speak out via what the kids call tweeting out.

Not sure where White is coming from exactly. Did he watch the highlights NBC showed of Haley screaming at players? That's old news, Roddy. Does he think Haley tries to pound square pegs into round holes? Hey Roddy, look at the 2008 Cardinals and the 2009-2011 Chiefs - very different offenses.

Hey don't worry about it Roddy. Worry more about Drew Brees breaking more offensive records against your team's defense.

Roddy should worry more about why his own team chokes in the playoffs and less about a team and coach that has NOTHING to do with him.

Roddy White is an idiot - some previous tweets from Mr. White regarding:

Penn State

A lot of stuff get swept under the rug at university's don't understand why penn state had to tell the media we got a coach rapping kids:jawdrop:

You know that's gone hurt the university you can't control a grown man I just think they should've got him arrested and that's the end

Joe pa told the people he was suppose to tell he is a football coach he coaches 100 student athletes the head people should've done more

I would send my kid there if he wanted to go he wasn't rappin football players that's a great program that joe pa ran

Y'all are crazy for thinking I'm saying it was ok for penn state to hide the incident but to blame joe pa when he told the people is bad

I hate when people take your comments and twist them into there own words I read the report and I feel terrible joe pa didn't do enough

And the whole time I spelled rapping instead of raping and I really don't care cause you got the point

And use of the word gay in a derogatory manner

Falcons wide receiver Roddy White apologized Thursday night for making anti-gay comments on Twitter earlier in the day.

@roddywhiteTV said: "OK people I apologize for saying the word gay I know it's a sensitive subject and a athlete of my stature should not use it."

So, how did it all begin?

A fan asked White if he would rather lead the league in statistics than win a Super Bowl, and White tweeted: "Would u rather be gay or straight come on u know that answer?"

Some of his followers took offense, so he followed up by saying: "Freedom of speech. I don't care how much money I make. I should be held to my own standards and not the standards of other opinion.#period" and "every time somebody says the word gay u want to get your panties in a bunch relax #whyusoemotional."

Roddy White apologizes to Todd Haley
Posted by Josh Alper on August 23, 2012, 4:50 PM EDT

Falcons receiver Roddy White made some waves on Sunday night with a tweet about Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley.

“Todd Haley problem is he really thinks that coaches win games not players when he realizes he doesn’t win games than he will be fine,” White wrote.

It was an odd choice by White for a couple of reasons. One was that he’s never played for Haley, so couldn’t testify firsthand as to his coaching style and the other is that it is as circular an argument as you can find. Players do win games with their play, but they are on the field because of decisions made by the coaches who also call the plays that the players execute. You can’t win without strong performances in both areas so it is hard to make an iron-clad argument for which is most important.

White either realized that or he realized that it’s not the best professional etiquette to call out coaches who might be looking for wide receivers at some point because Thursday brought a change of tune. White was back on Twitter to offer an apology to Haley.

“I want to apologize to Todd Haley for my comments way out of line by me. He just wants the best for his players. From a good source he is really a good coach,” White wrote.

White’s never been shy about sharing his thoughts via Twitter, whether about concussions, Joe Paterno or coaches from other teams. If you’re going to be that way and find yourself in a position where you need to apologize, far better to do it like this instead of just deleting a tweet and pretending it never happened.

Roddy has a ton of credibility.
He's criticizing a coach he's never played for......must have ESP or a Magic 8 Ball.

Who the hell is Rowdy Whine and the the hell is he talking about??!

1) Looks like the Predator.
2) Never played for Todd Haley.
3) Plays on a team that has no postseason significance whatsoever.
4) Is an idiot, as evidenced by his other rocket-scientist-worthy musings.
5) Is just angry because in our last meeting, Polamalu caught more of Matt Ryan's passes for more yards than he did.
