Steelers and Dolphins would help each other out with blockbuster deal
Go big or go home, right? Mike Wallace is unhappy, and the Pittsburgh Steelers need a running back. The Miami Dolphins have no wide receivers and a little bit of depth in the backfield. Mike Wallace for Reggie Bush solves both of those issues.

The Dolphins need to help rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill with a cornerstone receiver if they expect him to succeed. With this deal, Daniel Thomas inherits the starting job he was drafted for a couple of years ago. You have to find out how talented he is. The Steelers would get a clear-cut No. 1 back, and still have enough weapons at receiver to get by. (Not to mention, Bush catching balls out of the backfield will help make up for any lost production.)

We've stated numerous times "Wallace is not available for trade"

Hes coming back this weekend, and that would be a stupid trade anyways with 3 average running-backs already, all of whom have potential to break out big

Not no but hell no!

No, just no. I'm not in the group that thinks Wallace is in the same ballpark as Calvin Johnson, but he's most certainly more valuable than Reggie Bush.

no thanks, hope that helps.

Reggie Bush is very over-rated as a RB, averaging less than 4 yards/carry throughout his career. I wouldn't want to trade Mike Wallace for a guy who is essentially just a 3rd-down back.

Advice for people who hear about Wallace trade rumors:

Relax. Breathe slowly. The Steelers aren't trading him. Not their style and sets a bad precedent for future holdouts.

Remember, Mike Florio and the guys at NFLN can be wrong sometimes. I know I know, hard to believe when they employ great guys like Warren Sapp.

Reggie Bush wouldn't even be the "clear cut" number 1 back. Can these people be talking out of their asses any more?

The Dolphins' receiving depth is probably worse than the Steelers RB depth.

This is one of the rare rare times that I say, NO TO BUSH.

Bush and Miami's first rounder next year, I would do that. Miami is going to blow this year. Steelers could get a top 10 pick.

Why would anyone want to trade for Reggie Bush?

Have to say no to this one.

I loved Reggie Bush as USC.  He was dynamic.  I was sure that he'd be similar to Marshall Faulk and/or LaDainian.  And, I was completely WRONG.

He has had ONE good season in six years.

He isn't even a starter.  He is a role player.  Heck, as a role player, I'd want Darren Sproles more than Reggie.

Furthermore, he isn't an upgrade over Spinny, Redman, Dwyer, nor Rainey.  He would just be another player in an already decent list of RBs.

AP... I'd make THAT trade.

But Reggie Bush... hmmm... that is like trading for Orlando Scandrick: a good player... but, not any better than what the Steelers already have (Keenan Lewis, Cortez Allen).

HUH?!? :banging:

No.

Why do so many people have the idea that we "need a running back"? I think we are fine with what we have with Redman (returning to the field tonight), Dwyer (showing a lot more than he previously has), B. Batch (showing flashes), Ford (looking good for a "camp body"), and Mendy (off the PUP and returning sooner than expected). Trading away a great field spreading WR like Wallace (which we need) for another middle-of-the-road, role-playing RB in Bush (which we don't need) would be stupid and wasteful.

The only player on the Phins that is worth trading Wallace for is Cameron Wake. Even then I wouldn't do it.

I don't know.... maybe we should trade him for this guy?

God knows we could use a less cartoonish and much tougher mascot than Steely. :chuckle:

IMO it's not a totally bad idea that Redman is getting the reps. If something were to happen when Mendenhall comes back, at least Redman is prepared for action and he is accustomed to the system. But really, when a team has injuries, you really have to go with the next man on the depth-chart, or the guy who is playing the best.

I would take Wake for Wallace in a minute..
